  1. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hull-city-rubbish-claims-allan-1507052 Things take a twist: so the Hull assistant coach says McGregor was in Hull all day yesterday, when the Sun is reporting he was getting his medical at Ibrox. Makes you question any of the other rumours doing the rounds just now.
  2. Can't disagree with most of that. I would still go with Cummings over Morelos, as I think Fredo has had more than enough chances to prove himself against Celtic this season. Bring him on as a sub at some point - giving him plenty of time to get up to speed - but start Jason, as I think he will be out to try and win himself a permanent contract next season and may well hold the key to winning this game for us.
  3. Well, don't I feel foolish then? My ...ahem source, shall be on the end of a swift kick to the stones shortly.
  4. Bookies have apparently stopped taking bets on SG as the next manager. I know it doesn't necessarily mean he's 100% got the job, but it could be a good indication that an announcement may be imminent...
  5. Put a decent defence in front of Fod and I think he'd look a lot better. I'm nto averse to McGregor coming back, but Fod isn't the sole reason we've leaked so many goals this season. Yeah, he's prone to some gaffs, but McGregor isn't exactly innocent of that either.
  6. The fact that he's mentioning Joe Hart in a list of great goalies just adds to the idea that he's lost the plot.
  7. Yeah, but at least we'd have the glory of stopping a ten-in-a-row - before hitting some more agonising lows!
  8. More likely a ladyboy pub in Bangkok.
  9. I think a lot of people are just trying to be optimistic and hope that things can't get any worse than they are now. The realists among us know that they can always get worse, but I guess it helps to have a glimmer of hope too.
  10. I tend to agree with this part of your post. The fact that none of the high-profile, experienced names linked to the job by the press or the bookies have been appointed, suggests to me that they were either never in the running, or - as you say - they don't want the job.
  11. You're working on the assumption that there is no new manager in place. Perhaps there is someone already working behind the scenes with the DoF?
  12. Exactly. Judging a whole swathe of supporters, based on the nutters that phone in to the radio (no offence to any of the nutters that may be on here).
  13. And if we did have £5mill to spend, I reckon they'd be better using it on a couple of decent defenders, rather than ANOTHER midfielder. At this rate we'll be playing a 0-9-1 formation.
  14. It was tongue in cheek, seeing as how Hill scored against Celtic before. Thats why I put a wee smiley at the end!
  15. If Alves scores against them on Sunday, he'll be better than Hill Until then...
  16. I think you're being a bit harsh to be fair. A decent, commanding midfielder to run the centre of the park, two strong centre backs and - most importantly - a manager who knows what he's doing and I think we'll be miles better than we have been this season.
  17. We should probably be flattered by it all - we're in their every waking thought, haunting their dreams as well. And it proves that - as my dad says - "it's all about the Rangers".
  18. Was sent these mock ups earlier - honestly, if they look anything like this in reality, I reckon they're onto a winner.
  19. Aye, fair point. At least Cathro hasn't been mentioned. Yet. I'm sure there's a new version of Football Manager out soon though, so he'll probably be busy anyway.
  20. I see Robbie Nielson's name touted as an outsider this morning. Wouldn't be the worst candidate to be fair - knows the game up here, did alright at Hearts after the were promoted back into the Premiership.
  21. I said I was feeling positive. I didn't say I thought we were going to win the league/catch Celtic.
  22. I remember feeling fairly positive just after New Year, when a few decent looking signings came in and we got some good results. Even during the build up to the 'biggest Old Firm game ever' (the papers words, not mine) was fairly positive. If the outcome of that game had turned out differently, I think the outlook now would've been completely different.
  23. Bit of a left-field name here (or maybe not... read on) - everyone is mentioning FdB, but no-one's mentioned Ronald as a possible name. Played for us longer, so arguably a bigger 'legend' at Ibrox than Frank. Would be a bit of a marquee signing and he knows the club well. Alright, so he hasn't managed any teams directly, so would be a gamble (yeah, another gamble), but he has been quietly learning his trade around the world and - according to good ol' Wikipedia - is now at Barcelona as assistant. He might be closer to our price range, due to lack of experience (maybe not, dunno what Barca pay him). Anyway, just a daft thought I had while reading through this thread.
