  1. Well, I might as well make my final post on here a good one :)

Good stuff from Calscot once more, i've always agreed with the vast majority of what he has posted, it's just a shame that certain sections of our support continue to drag their knuckles instead of looking to a more modern inclusive future

Would be nice to see more people with views like Cal's on here, but that will never happen, as i've already stated that such views are not really welcomed on here - maybe the people who run this forum will one day sit back and actually wonder why the membership rarely seems to grow, but i very much doubt it. The views of ALL rangers fans should be tolerated on here, and whilst we may not always agree, some level of respect should be given

With that i bid you all adieu!!

  2. I can see your point Frankie, but you have to admit our history is blighted by sectarianism. To prove that we are not just paying lip service to Government and UEFA legislation, I think we have to be careful and almost portray a whiter than white front.

totally agree ... and you are right, it does stick in the throat when you look at what those idiots across the city can get away with with their whole 'irish roots' pish, but this isn't about them, it's about us getting our own house in order, and to do that we need to do MORE than what is expected of us, whilst at the same time standing our ground on the ridiculous - it's a fine line!

Which of course is why i have always been so disappointed with the whole Big Jock Knew crap ... we really have to rise above this!

  3. Surely the fans should push a clubs identity, not the club? After all, the fans ARE the club!

When has anyone ever asked if the fans enjoy the prematch music, etc? I'd much rather hear a good mix of old and new football songs than the friggin' dambusters, rule britannia, and other such irrelevant nonsense! Just my opinion, of course :)

  4. Nothing to do with catholics - more to do with the RSC being outnumbered by Celtic fans.

The banner's slogan was based on a pun on an Irish newspaper article about the RSC.

It's funny and no-one should take it seriously. For it to be banned is ridiculous.

You don't happen to have any links to the article? Would be a good read for the folks on here

  5. I have to agree with most of Cal's posts on here :)

I'm not anti-monarchy, but my political views are now moving slowly towards believing that independence would be good for Scotland, with the queen remaining as head of state. I know that isn't seen as the general view of a Rangers fan, but i have no probs with that, and if the majority of Rangers fans are pro-unionist (i'm not convinced they are by the way!) then i have no issues with that either

    However, i

    a) don't think the club should be actively pushing an identity, a la the good old 'empire megamix' they insist on playing pre-match

    and

    b) that my view is equally respected, and not scorned upon. I've seen people getting abuse at Ibrox for wearing a 'Jock' top in the past .. that kind of thing is bang out of order

  6. but the match commander at Ibrox didnt seem to have a problem with their banner depicting the Rangers support/ players as sub evolutionary...

Keep the faith brothers and sisters

    We Are The People

    totally!

whilst i don't agree with classing the people of Dublin as our 'enemies' (let's grow up, eh?) some of the banners that the great unwashed have happily displayed in OUR OWN STADIUM beggars belief!!

  7. Boyd plays, scores but we are generally lethargic going forward...not Boyd's fault tho' IMO but we seemed happy to hit long balls up to mcculloch while falkirk passed the ball about on saturday...then Naismith comes on Boyd goes off and all of a sudden we have a bit of variety of play going forward... therein lies the Boyd dilemma

BTW i thought Naismith was superb again on saturday...has wee off days here and there but this bear enjoys watching him

Yep, that was my view as well

McCulloch offers very little in my view, except an out ball and it stops us trying to play football

  8. what, straight after you managed to read someones malign intentions into the creation of a flag? you accused them of being an typical antiscottish ibrox moron long before they turned on your intentions, so lets stop the poor me syndrome please. you dislike the british emphasis in our club? you are one of many, not some minority group. either be bold enough to have your own views, or dont say anything at all - this persecution complex on a message board shit is ridiculous.

I made a general statement which yeah, was wrong .. i didn't accuse you of anything personally though!

It's just the political side that our club seems to portray that i don't like ... just because the idiots on the other side of Glasgow feel the need, doesn't mean we have to

  9. we are also a british club playing in britain. if nationality has nothing to do with it, then lets apply it across the board, eh? you either want stuff emphasising our scottishness, or something thats only to do with football. make up your mind.

... then let it only be about the football then, i'd be quite happy with that

  10. mate, if you dont like it here, then feel free to leave. if people are too weak to go against a trend without complaining then they are as well leaving.

I gave my views on a trend in my first post on this thread - i was accused of being the Rangers thought police!!!!!!

Is that the point you are struggling to make?

  11. if we are simply a football club, what does scotland even have to do with it?

Well, i suppose strictly nothing - although we are surely a Scottish club playing in the Scottish league - must count for something!!

  12. Wait one minute mate.

Gersnet has never and will never allow opinions to be suppressed. By and large people can post what they want and debate what they want without any problems.

    DELETED

    silly comment, i apologise

  13. Did i say i didn't want it flown???????????? I merely gave my opinion on it, then you came back and gave me all unrelated nonsense about things that have nothing to do with our football club (highlighted AGAIN to make the point!)

  14. If you don't like it fine, but don't try and inform me why I designed the banner like I did - who are you anyway the Rangers Supporters thought police?

    Cammy F

I know your town fine well thank you very much, in fact i can trace my family line back to there - and further back to Belfast, but i don't particularly like RHOU flags being flown at Ibrox either, even though i personally could justify it!!!!!!!!

I have great respect for the armed forces of this country, i just don't feel this is something that needs to be linked to a football club. I'm not 'unproud' to be British, but this stupid linking of certain icons and songs (the cringeworthy pre-match Empire Megamix being a prime example) does irk me

... and who are you? Trying to suppress my opinion? Well, that wouldn't be unusual on here i guess.
