Never believe much printed in the sun so this is probably more crap.
  2. On the 10th of February, David Murray did a lot of talking. He talked of the future, and of how rosey things would be in the garden. During that interview, he uttered the following line : Quote: when we make the changes, and if people are not happy, then protest all you want Why then, now that things aren't so rosey, is he using every means at his disposal, to silence those who wish to criticise him ? Murray Pledges A 'Moonbeam' To Banish Long Dark Season Of Despair : Evening Times - Darrell King 10/02/06 Ibrox Crisis : Rangers chief broke his silence after fan protests forced him to declare his hand early. For a man who likes to think of Rangers as his family, clearly being attacked from those within his inner circle was just too much. The 300 fans who protested outside Ibrox after last week's Scottish Cup defeat to Hibs, and the dozen or so who unfurled a 'Murray Out' banner at Pittodrie before Wednesday night's defeat, may have been small in number. But David Murray sensed a major fall-out was on the way - something that may even have ended in damaging feuding or even acrimonious divorce. When the final whistle blew in Aberdeen, Rangers yet again on the end of a defeat, the Ibrox owner and chairman knew it was time to act. Today he has called for unity behind his decision to reveal that his embattled manager, Alex McLeish, will go at the end of the season. In his own inimitable style, Murray also rolled out the big guns - a new manager is more or less in place, huge investment is on the way to fund his rebuilding of this pitiful Rangers line-up and the club is making record amounts of cash. Like the head of the family calling everyone around the table, he has spoken. Now he wants the Rangers support to prepare themselves for what he will bring to that very table - and if they are not pleased, he says they can protest all they like. Murray said : "The fans have been very supportive, but they want to see direction. My job is to get to the bottom of our problems and get this sorted out. I will leave no stone unturned. I am working very hard with Martin Bain to bring all these deals together and bring the direction this club needs. Rangers should not be divided. Yes, we are annoyed, yes, we are upset at results - but we must stick together. That (protests) is not Rangers' way. I understand people have the right to stand outside and protest. But Rangers do things another way, not like that. That's why I meet the Trust, the Assembly, we do it by talking." "It is people's entitlement. It does not sway me, nor does it put me off - I will still do my job to the very best. I can understand 300 people getting bloody annoyed if they felt there wasn't a light at the end of the tunnel - but there is a massive moonbeam of success waiting for us. People must accept there are legal issues, stock exchange issues, timing factors - but this will happen. And when we make the changes, and if people are not happy, then protest all you want - but big plans are on the way for Rangers." Of course, it has taken the combination of the horrendous results and performances against Hibs and Aberdeen to prompt action from the chairman. Clearly, with an Old Firm game looming, he has attempted to throw a bucket of water over what was a simmering situation developing between the rightly frustrated fans and those they follow all over the land. Maybe Murray should have acted sooner. Maybe, looking at things now, it has strengthened the argument that McLeish should have been removed during the shocking run of results in the autumn and early winter months. But loyalty has always been Murray's closest friend. Now he wants his support to put more faith in the man who has been the custodian of their club for 18 years. There is no doubt that his stock is at an all-time low in the eyes of many, but these are not false statements - a new dawn is on the way. "We all have degrees in hindsight, " Murray conceded, "Perhaps I should have spoken after the transfer window. But, after not being able to win for 10 matches, we were undefeated in 10 matches, and sometimes it's best left alone. However, after the indifferent performances of the week, it had to be said. I had to let the fans know we have been working on plans for a long time. There is going to be a major financial input to the club, there is now going to be a new manager and a new structure. I am disappointed it's come to this as we are about to announce very strong financial figures. The club is on a great financial footing after having a difficult time - we are going through record turnover." ED
  3. Its with a heavy heart that I have come to the decision that as long as David Murray is in control, or has anything to do with Rangers Football Club, I will not set one foot back into Ibrox. I have thought long and hard about this, and it is the worst decision that I have ever had to make. Starting from Saturday, I will station myself at the Main Door of Ibrox and will spend the 90 minutes protesting there against David Murray (if allowed by The Police) and will continue to do this until Murray fucks off and takes his lapdogs Bain & McIntyre with him. 4. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/news/2006/101106.html 10 November 2006 RST Meet with David Murray The RST attended a brief meeting with David Murray and Martin Bain before Wednesdays match with St. Johnstone. Attendees were Chairman Malcolm McNiven, Vice-Chairman Scott McMillan, Spokesperson David Edgar and Webmaster Stewart Franklin. While the details of the meeting were confidential, the RST feel that their members should know that the RST reps raised a number of concerns relating to the club in the short discussion. Topics raised included finance; the short and long-term planning strategy of the club; media; and the clubs relationship with the fans. The Chairman listened and indicated he would make a statement in the next few days. The RST look forward to hearing his statement and will discuss its implications at our next board meeting, scheduled for next week. A further meeting between the club and the RST is provisionally scheduled for late December.
  5. Just when we thought that we had endured the ââ?¬Ë?season from hellââ?¬â?¢ and that things couldnââ?¬â?¢t get any worse, along comes ââ?¬Ë?season from hell IIââ?¬â?¢ and things are going from bad to worse with little or no sign of improvement on the domestic front. Another terrible performance and defeat at the hands of the worst DUFC team in living memory. That is 1 point we have managed to gain from them so far this seasonââ?¬Â¦. Our new manager came with a real pedigree and whilst some of the hype was a bit over the top, we all rightly thought that this was man to revitalise Rangers and lead us to domestic dominance and gain credibility on Europe. He may eventually achieve this, but this cold windy winters night, that possibility looks as far away as a long hot Scottish summer. The most galling aspect to ââ?¬Ë?season from hell IIââ?¬â?¢ is that PLG was given videos of our horror season and we all thought that once he studied them, he would identify our glaring weaknesses, identify players who would eradicate them and build on the few positives that AM left us. Well, instead of eradicating the mistakes, we are making the same mistakes as last season and compounding the situation by making even more elementary mistakes game after game. I am sitting here trying to put into more eloquent terms just how bad we are. However, I am at a loss for words, so will go with my gut-instinct and say that we are utter pish. Think that is a tad harsh? Well, we are currently only 3 points above 9th placed St Mirren. Yip, that is correct, we are 3 points away from being 9th in the SPfuckinL. Now, those of you who know me will know that I have said for a while that things are going to continue to get worse as long as Mr Murray, Mr Bain and Mr McIntyre continue to run, or is that ruin the club that we love. This is a view that I still hold, although it has be ridiculed by some of my Rangers supporting friends who still think the sun shines out of our esteemed Chairmanââ?¬â?¢s arse. I will reiterate that there will be no long term improvement until Murray and his associates are removed from our club. They have no interest / love for Rangers, they are in this for personal gain. There is no long-term goal, no long-term plans and no investment from them, so how are we supposed to improve both on and off the field? They do not care that we are targeted by the authorities whilst the real bigots are allowed free reign to sing their vile and repugnant songs, they do not care that we have no youth policy or that we are ââ?¬Ë?unattractiveââ?¬â?¢ to the youth of today (the future supporters that we need to survive). They only care about themselves. I read a great line either on FF messageboard or in the fanzine where the posters wrote ââ?¬â?? ââ?¬Ë?Everything I loved about Rangers is in the pastââ?¬â?¢. That sentiment is hard to argue with and sums up the current state of our once great institution. To make matters worse (if they could get any worse) we are light years behind our greatest rivals. Even though they were minutes from being closed down a few short years ago. Whoââ?¬â?¢s fault is that, step forward David Murray. All the fun, excitement, passion, camaraderie that went hand-in-hand with following Rangers has gone. We have been force-fed Murrayââ?¬â?¢s lies and down-grading speeches and accepted them. We need a vision and someone who is willing to see that through. That person is currently not on the board at Ibrox and until they are, we are in for a long, hard and sad time ahead. Cammy F
  6. http://www.gersnet.info/fmrangers/newmain/151006.html After another week of mediocrity, weakness and capitulation, where do Rangers FC go from here? Season 06/07 began with excitement and predictions of grandeur. The appointment of PLG and the signing of a few new, young players along with the eventual removal of the past-it fringe guys meant that Rangers would be once again heading for the record books by capturing our 52nd title. Incredibly, only 10 games and less than 3 months into the new season, the only record we’ve broken is one to compliment the not so proud one of last season. Last year seen Eck oversee the worst run of results in our history. This season, we’ve currently ‘enjoying’ our worst ever start to an SPL campaign. So what has went wrong and who is responsible? Let’s start with the players. The personnel may have changed since last year but the same inadequacies exist. We appear unfit; are one-paced; have minimal work-rate; are physically weak and most importantly lack the mental belief and character any winning team requires. These basic principles are the least we should have to operate at professional level. Yet, despite the change of manager and tactics, they still appear prevalent. That goes for every player as none have shown the consistency and/or skill levels required to escape criticism. Every player should now be playing for their future – no matter their past record or reputation. That takes us nicely to the new management team. Paul Le Guen and Yves Colleau arrived with first-class credentials. Although still relatively young, their 3 titles in France and decent European performances meant the Rangers fans were right to be excited and expect a new era with success attached. Certainly, the Frenchmen showed no signs of pressure or nerves as they said and did all the right things pre-season. Fernando Ricksen being sent to Coventry (or the Russian equivalent!) and reports of 3 training sessions per day were an early sign of fitness improvements with new levels of discipline. At last the players would earn their inflated wages! We started the season well enough, the football was good and although there were some early dropped points, that was unlucky and understandable for a new regime. Since then though things have got gradually worse. Results have been awful; performances lacklustre; the coaching team seem stubborn; the manager dismissive of the fans’ thoughts and evidence of a hard pre-season’s fitness work impossible to find with the usual glut of injuries and unfit players. As such, PLG and his assistants must take their share of the blame – no excuses please! Now we find ourselves at the top of the tree and conversely the root of the problem – the directors and owner of the club. Criticism of Martin Bain and David Murray has been rife over the last few years of downsizing. In some ways that criticism has been unfair but in others not only is it relevant but also has still to be appreciated and addressed by the board. Like it or not our financial downsizing was necessary – we needed to reduce our debt. However, that does not mean to say our ambitions should be reduced by the same factor, nor our pride, heritage and attitudes to our support. The club is for sale and other than the impressive and innovative RST ‘Gersave’ scheme there appears to be little interest from any potential buyer towards a chairman/owner who would rather be anywhere than Glasgow and Ibrox. The pre-season hope seems such a long way away now. Rangers FC and our fans have been through a lot in the last year. We’ve just finished 3rd in the SPL, which is unprecedented for many of our fans. Not since the mid-80s have we had such a poor season domestically. The UEFA problems are still causing friction and there’s no doubt heavy-handed policing and stewarding at Ibrox has affected the general ambience of Ibrox – it’s not the same place and probably never will be again. Our club has changed forever. Therefore what does the future hold for us? Should we prepare ourselves now for a lifetime of mediocrity? On and off the field we now appear to be 2nd best or worse. Is this acceptable? Is this a blip? Have we been spoiled by success? How can we change things? Who can improve them? The answer to those crucial questions is the same as the answer as to our problems. Firstly the players must improve or leave. Secondly the management team must improve or leave. Finally, the board must improve or leave. This isn’t a question that can be answered overnight. It will take a wee bit longer before we can decide if their answers are suitable. But we won’t be cheated and we won’t be disrespected. We deserve better than that. Without the fans Rangers would be nothing. The fans currently have to look themselves in the mirror and act for the good of the club. Can the same be asked of the staff of OUR club – from the cleaners who turn a blind eye to troublemakers; to the high rollers who turn their nose up at singing sections? Will they be ‘Ready’ or not ‘Ready’ to answer the questions and challenges ahead?
  7. Mr Murray, Mr Bain, Mr McIntyre, Mr PLG, Mr High Paid Footballer are hurting as much as we are tonight? Do you think they care that we are a pile of stinking dog-do? Do you think they have the balls to turn this around? Do you think they have the bottle to stand shoulder to shoulder? Do you think they will tackle the press, the Police, the Joke McConnell and his 2-bob Parliament buddies? Nah, didnt think so. Cammy F
  8. Just read on another forum that the Sun Tan Kid currently draws a yearly salary of £527,000 from Rangers... Jesus H Christ.. Cammy F
  9. A few weeks / months back, Frankie did an excellent article on how he belived that David Murray was preparing to sell Rangers Football Club and today, Leggit has this has his lead story. He is saying that Murray will accept an offer in the region of £40 million pounds, preferrabley from a Scottish consortium. It appears that Murray knows that his time is up and is actively looking for someone to buy his shares in Rangers and take control of the club. If this doesn't happen sooner rather than later, this is very bad news for us. If a buyer isn't found soon, Murray will continue to everything in his power to make us an 'attractive propisition'. That will mean NO money for the manager, more PC directives (leading to more songs and fans being banned) and more of the crap we have had to put up with for years (papers attacking us with no retribution etc). I have also heard that Ian Durrant will lose his job in the next 2-3 weeks and he has already lost his access to Ibrox, Players lounge etc on match-days. David Murray, via Martin Bain is ridding Rangers of its 'Rangersness' as he believes that makes us more attractive to buyers. This is the reason that people like Campbell Ogilvie, Geroge Adam, John Brown etc have been sacked. In summary, Murray will KILL this club so he can sell it - lets hope that we get a buyer sooner rather than later. Cammy F

  11. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/news/2006/020806.html Rangers have today appointed specialist PR firm Mediahouse to handle issues surrounding the recently announced UEFA directives. A statement issued by the club reads:- Rangers Football Club today (Wednesday) announced it has appointed Media House International Ltd as Public Relations consultants for the Club's ongoing anti-sectarian campaign. Media House, which has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and New York, will provide strategic advice and lobbying expertise to the Club on communicating its range of anti-sectarian initiatives and policies. Media House will work with Rangers to ensure fans, football authorities, the media, politicians, the Scottish Executive and campaigning groups are aware of the extensive activities the Club is undertaking to tackle sectarianism amongst the minority of its support. Martin Bain, Chief Executive of Rangers Football Club, said: "Rangers Football Club undertakes a wide range of initiatives aimed at combating sectarian behaviour among a small number of supporters. Media House has been brought on board to ensure we communicate these activities and to provide strategic advice and lobbying expertise on future initiatives. "The Club is determined to eradicate this problem and welcomes the overwhelming support of the majority of supporters in helping us to achieve this."
  12. Rangers face a battle on two fronts to restore their reputation this season. While Paul Le Guen's arrival has addressed last term's domestic descent to third place, David Murray, the Rangers chairman, is at the vanguard of a more complex and potentially more costly situation. UEFA's decision to impose a heavy censure and a fine of Ã?£13,000 for "repeated breaches" of its ethical code is the first wave of the governing body's clampdown on bigotry. Murray gave an impassioned interview to Rangers TV last week, urging supporters to show respect and integrity throughout the season. The Herald understands there are plans to reinforce the point at the first home game of the season, against Dundee United on Saturday, with anti-discrimination banners and possibly even subtle amendments to the pre-match music. One song, Wolverhampton Wanderers, which celebrates a European Cup Winners' Cup victory against the Midlands side in 1961, is almost certain to be featured. Last night, Jim Templeton, president of the Rangers Supporters' Assembly, offered his organisation's unconditional backing to the battle against bigotry after attending a meeting with Martin Bain, the Rangers chief executive, and Murray, to unite the club and its right-minded supporters. "We have made a lot of progress and you saw from what David Murray had to say at the end of last week how serious the club are about tackling the problem," he told The Herald. "We will be happy to help in any way we can. There are plans already under way for the first home league match of the season to force home the point. "We have to cut out the sectarian problem. If you go back to my younger days, say 20 years ago, and compare it to today, there has been vast change for the better. Year-on-year there has been a controlled improvement and that has to continue." UEFA have taken a particularly dim view of The Billy Boys, which includes the line "up to our knees in ****** blood", and have threatened stadium closure or even suspension from European competition if the level of sectarianism continues. However, the UEFA directive has spawned an indignation among an element of fundamentalist Rangers supporters. While there has been an audible hush around Ibrox at the contentious part of The Billy Boys, there are some who have deigned to sing twice as loudly to compensate, not least during the pre-season friendly against Middlesbrough. On Sunday at Fir Park the difficulties in controlling the away support were exposed with sporadic bursts of sectarian chanting, especially before the game against Motherwell. "As has often been said before, this is not simply a football problem but a society problem and we cannot tackle it on our own," said Templeton. "In Linfield, for example, some people were out to prove a point. You get resistance in any walk of life but you need to put pressure on people not to go down that road. The vast majority of Rangers fans do not have a problem with sectarianism but it is everybody's responsibility to ensure there is no damage done to the club." Rangers fans' issue with UEFA over identifying The Billy Boys as an offensive song centres on the fact various clubs have adopted their own version. "We shouldn't be up to our knees in anyone's blood," said Templeton. "We should encourage everyone to come on board and get away from it. You have to consider there are other clubs who sing the same song with one word of difference. Look at the Middlesbrough game. They started their version and it was natural that the home fans would react." The sectarianism debate has been intensified since the appointment of Le Guen, Rangers' first Roman Catholic manager. The continued singing is doubtless a source of acute embarrassment to Murray, who pulled off a major coup in attracting one of Europe's most coveted young managers to Glasgow. "When the club announced Paul Le Guen was the new manager I never met one Rangers supporter who cared about his religion," said Templeton. "We had no idea what Dick Advocaat was and could not have cared less. The team is full of Catholics and now we have our first Catholic manager. It makes no difference." UEFA and the Scottish Football Association are now obliged to monitor the behaviour of Rangers fans both in the Bank of Scotland Premierleague and in the UEFA Cup. From next month, government legislation means police forces can impose banning orders on supporters found guilty of sectarian or discriminatory singing at football grounds. Templeton is receptive to any measures that will address the problem but maintains UEFA's cack-handed approach in the first instance ââ?¬â?? they found Rangers not guilty only for the appeals body to overturn that decision ââ?¬â?? may prove counter-productive. UEFA investigators gathered evidence from two separate fronts: first, the atmosphere at Ibrox on the night of February 22, when Villarreal played in Glasgow; and, second, the conduct of Rangers supporters in Spain for the Champions League return leg. He said: "I think the UEFA directive was aimed in the wrong direction. If they headed down the *** road people would be more receptive." Templeton has also written to the chief constable of Greater Manchester Police seeking a full apology on behalf of fans after their decision to cancel a proposed pre-season game against Bolton Wanderers, claiming inadequate stewarding and safety concerns. "They never consulted Derby, Ipswich or Newcastle, where [Rangers] fans have travelled recently with no problems, but instead Liverpool, based on a problem eight years ago," he said
  13. Currently, we are being portrayed, and seen as the BNP, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda of football and have a huge job to turn this perceived image around. However, this is a direct consequence of Dodgy Daveââ?¬â?¢s continued refusal to publicly back us, the Rangers support. For years, many media outlets in this country have openly lied about the actions of Rangers fans. From the supposed riots in Sunderland and Bradford to us cutting our pitch to resemble a sash to the annual criticisms of our kit, sections of the mhedia have shown their agenda ââ?¬â?? to demonise Rangers Football Club and itââ?¬â?¢s supporters. Now, I could go on and on about things that have been printed in certain papers by certain journalists, but I am aware that the Amazon rain-forests are running out of tress and I donââ?¬â?¢t want this blamed on Rangers fansââ?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬Â¦. Anyway, itââ?¬â?¢s safe to say that we all know the main culprits and their many lies and innuendos. I have to interject here and discuss the UEFA decision and that by not challenging this, David Murray has given our enemies ammunition and by god are they using it to their advantage. The RST rightly said that only through education and not condemnation could we change attitudes, they are right, but it is a pity the media donââ?¬â?¢t see it this way. We are working to eradicate some of the songs and chants that are heard at Ibrox and elsewhere, and after the UEFA decision we were promised that the club would take the lead and inform us what we can sing and how they were going to promote and celebrate our proud history and tradition. Linfield Football Club have, through community work, education and PR positively created an inclusive club which still promotes and celebrates itââ?¬â?¢s loyalist roots. We could learn a thing or two from Linfield. In a recent Sunday rag, they told the journalist all of the above and came out with some good press. Meanwhile, David Murray sits in his office counting our cash whilst allowing everyone and their dog to have a go at us. The latest is the Daily Record and their take on why the Bolton friendly was cancelled. Now, as I have said previously, compare his ââ?¬Ë?dignified silenceââ?¬â?¢ to attacks on US to his fast, strong and legal attacks on anyone who dares question Mr Murray or his suntanned mukka Mr Bain. In all honesty, I am at the stage where I believe that Murrayââ?¬â?¢s malaise has spread to a majority of the support who either donââ?¬â?¢t care what is written about us, or worse, actually believe what is written about us. So, what can we do? That is the $64,000 question. Firstly, we have to openly admit and embrace our past ââ?¬â?? we are a football club who represent the Protestant traditions in Scotland and further afield. This is NOTHING to be ashamed off ââ?¬â?? it should be celebrated. However, we are an inclusive club who welcome fans / players / employees no matter their colour, creed or religion. Secondly, we have to convince our fans that by celebrating our Presbyterianism, this doesnââ?¬â?¢t mean disrespecting other religions. Thirdly, we have to do this publicly whilst fighting our corner in the media. That will require a PR Department that will rapidly respond to any inaccuracies that are published in the media. By doing this, we will show that we mean business and the journalists will be treated with respect, only if they treat us with respect and fairly ââ?¬â?? after all that is all we ask. Can this be achieved? Yes and easily. However, can it be achieved with David Murray at the helm? I seriously think not ââ?¬â?? this is going to get worse before it gets better unless Murray acts and acts swiftly ââ?¬â?? over to you Mr Chairman. Cammy F
  14. Just weeks after David Murray promised us (yeah, like we'd believe him) statements that would defend our club and promote our heritage and tradition, we have yet another TWAT in the media attacking our reputation. Recently, Martin Bain was accused of dodgy dealings in a newspaper and David Murray via Rangers, issued a writ 2 hours after the story was run - killing the story stone-dead. How long do we, the fans have to wait for Murray to act? Well, for a man that won't defend DEAD Rangers fans, there isn't much hope of him defending the living is there. Defend US NOW or GET TO FUCK Mr Murray Cammy F

  16. Whilst David Murrayââ?¬â?¢s statement relating to the UEFA charges was welcome, it was months too late and ambiguous at best and shows that he, the club and most importantly us, the fans have a very important few weeks ahead of us and we, the fans, must continue to demand leadership from the club on the thorny subject of ââ?¬Ë?sectarianismââ?¬â?¢. David Murray and Rangers have been very ââ?¬Ë?privateââ?¬â?¢ in their thoughts about ââ?¬Ë?sectarianismââ?¬â?¢ and have allowed the press and now UEFA to demonise us and portray us as bigots ââ?¬â?? the damage has been done, our reputation tarnished and this will take major work to regain. The work needs to start now and needs to be led by the club along with groups like the RST, TBO, fan representatives etc. We have allowed our enemies to set the agenda regarding sectarianism in Scotland and this has seen as painted as the ââ?¬Ë?bad guysââ?¬â?¢ and the only club with a problem. We all know that this isnââ?¬â?¢t true, but the way this is being played in the media, large sections of non-football attending people are believing what is reported and think we are a bunch of bigots. This urgently needs to be readdressed. We (Rangers) need to have a PR Department that actively review media outlets and instantly challenge any lies, innuendos, half-truths etc peddled by the section of the media that obviously hates Rangers and everything we stand for. However, with Martin Bain at the helm, this is unlikely. Mr Bain has already stated that he will NEVER employ a Rangers fan in a job that offers more than Ã?£20K per year. So folks, if he was interviewing for PR jobs and Frankie, Calscot and I were up against Findar Oââ?¬â?¢Neill, Shaun Oââ?¬â?¢Shaunasy and Patrick Oââ?¬â?¢Mally, the later 3 would be given the job of defending Rangers in the press. Thatââ?¬â?¢s right, Rangers would rather employ 3 people who had, at best, no interest in Rangers over 3 people who actively support the club and have an obvious love for Rangers Football Club. This attitude MUST change and Rangers must employ people in the PR roles who have the best interests of RFC at heart. The PR Department should be bringing reporters like Leckie, McNee, Keevins and Speirs to task and by that, I mean banning the reptiles from Ibrox and stopping access to Rangers players etc for them and their newspapers. We have won ââ?¬Ë?smallââ?¬â?¢ victories against these scumbags by getting letters printed in papers, apologies live on air and the RST had the right to reply to McNee in his own rag. Imagine how much more powerful the response if it was directed by an efficient and effective PR Department at Ibrox, supplemented by the fans bombarding them as well? Next, we MUST start to admit, celebrate and encourage our Protestant heritage. It is nothing to be ashamed of, it is something that he have to celebrate along with celebrating our diverseness and our inclusiveness. I quote Davie Jeffery the Linfield manager ââ?¬Ë?At Linfield weââ?¬â?¢re about inclusiveness. In the past there has maybe been a nervousness for people to come out and say that, but Iââ?¬â?¢d like to say it emphatically. Iââ?¬â?¢m probably as Protestant as anybody, or as Loyalist if you want to put that slant on it, but the most important thing for me is the football club. ââ?¬Å?I donââ?¬â?¢t give a fig about colour, creed or whatever else. If players want to play in a blue jersey, thatââ?¬â?¢s all Iââ?¬â?¢m concerned about ââ?¬â?? and they should be supported by all our fans. People donââ?¬â?¢t need to sing anything that is offensive, hurtful or derogatory if theyââ?¬â?¢re supporting my team or my players. We are pushing a new venture at the moment. What weââ?¬â?¢re saying is that if youââ?¬â?¢re a true blue youââ?¬â?¢re anti-sectarian and anti-racist.ââ?¬Â These are the type of words that should be eminating from Ibrox. We should be encouraged to celebrate the positiveness of our culture whislt eradicating the negative songs. It is undenyable that we have become more ââ?¬Ë?anti-catholic/rebpublican/cratic than pro-Unionist (loyalist)/protestant/Rangers. We have to cut out the ââ?¬Ë?FTPââ?¬â?¢sââ?¬â?¢ and the cringeworthy Red Hand Salutes. Now we move onto the word/term that is likely to split the Rangers support if we allow this debate to fester unmanaged any longer. The infamous F-word. Now, this word and itââ?¬â?¢s meaning has been debated at great length and I have listened to both sides of the arguemnt. What doesnââ?¬â?¢t help is that the two camps use offensive terms to describe each other. The fans of the F-word call the non-fans; handwringers, PC-Brigade, apologists etc whislt themselves being referred to as ââ?¬Ë?uber-probsââ?¬â?¢ etc. Personally, I firmly believe that Fenian doesnââ?¬â?¢t equate to Catholic but it can not be denied that certain Rangers fans think that using the word Fenian does mean Catholic or even Craptic fan. Given UEFAââ?¬â?¢s directive to Rangers to ban The Billy Boys, it looks like we have to refrain from using this term. In my humble opinion, I am more than happy to cease using the word if it benefits Rangers and means an end to UEFA charges. Rangers must now inform us why The Billy Boys was banned ââ?¬â?? was it the reference to Fenians, was it to do with being ââ?¬Ë?up to our knees in Fenian bloodââ?¬â?¢ and what other songs are to be axed? Rangers must also ensure that UEFA arenââ?¬â?¢t just picking on Rangers. There are clubs not a million miles away from Rangers who have a worse sectarian problem and that is not mentioning the racist andf sectarian problems across main-land Europe (and further afield). We the fans must actively try to get David Murray to change his attitude regarding the press and get an effective PF Department up and running which is run and managed by people with Rangers at heart. People like Martin Bain and McIntyre must be removed and replaced by ââ?¬Ë?Rangers menââ?¬â?¢. Lets not forget that McIntyre stopped TBO from having a display against Aberdeen but allowed the Aberdeen Ultras to have a display. Yes people, youââ?¬â?¢ve read that correctly. McIntrye stopped a dedicated, anti-sectarian group of Rangers fans from having a display at IBROX but allowed Rangers hating scumbags to have a display whilst singing about the Ibrox Disaster, Richard Gough, Ian Durrant and mocking Davie Coopers death ââ?¬â?? welcome to David Murrays Rangers 2006 folks. Never fear tho, if the media have a go at either Murray and or Bain, the legal writs are flying and the stroies retracted ââ?¬â?? but if they tarnish our image ââ?¬â?? silence is golden. Someone more cynical than myself would argue that Murray has a deal with the rags ââ?¬â?? leave him alone, attack us and everything will be hunky-doreyââ?¬Â¦ So ii summing up, we the fans, have a choice. We can take Murrays attitude and sit back and let the press write what they want about us ââ?¬â?? no matter if it is false. Or, we can lobby Murray and get a PR Depertment that will fight for the good name of Rangers Football Club and everything associated with it. It may mean the end of his ââ?¬Ë?yes-menââ?¬â?¢ but it would be in the interests of Rangers FC. Are you ââ?¬Ë?Readyââ?¬â?¢ ââ?¬â?? I amââ?¬Â¦. Cammy F
