  1. http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,,-6003756,00.html This guy is a great manager and although his team stumbled against us in the Champions League, he took them to the league and cup double in Portugal. I'm sure one of the bigger European clubs will pick him up. I was disappointed we didn't go for him when he quit Alkmaar just over a year ago, and looking at what he did for Porto he could have done a good job for us. He would probably have enjoyed the stability that a manager of Rangers receives. However I'm now immensely happy with PLG as our manager and I'm pretty sure he's not a man to quit as easily. He should see out his three years at least.
  2. On the official site that a loan agreement has taken place. TA TA http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~879646,00.html
  3. Tomorrow has Hearts v AEK Athens The Jam Tarts have started the season well with 3 wins out of 4, winning two difficult games at "home". Do you think they can continue the good work with a decent result against the Greeks at what should be a half filled Murrayfield? I think that the result against Celtic will have given them a great lift and a boost in self belief which could raise their game against a side which are only just recently recovering from debt problems and a decade of decline. I'm think they have a good chance of at least a narrow win but will have to be careful about losing a crucial away goal. Thursday has Gretna v Derry at Fir Park. Whatever the fourth Scottish representative in Europe, the traditional result is an ignominious early exit from what would normally be considered a complete minnow from a footballing backwater. Do you think Gretna will be another name added to the list of shame, or do you thing the 1st division new boys will carry the great spirit and determination with no lack of skill, that they used to narrowly lose the Scottish cup on penalties, into their first European experience with the Irish 3rd placed team? Derry created a shock to get to this stage of the competition by beating former conquerors of Rangers, IFK Gothenburg 1-0, both home and away. So it's fair to say they won't be coming as cannon fodder to the team who opened this season's account with a 6-0 thrashing of last years third placed team, Hamilton Accies. I think the way they are going they'll be the team to break the mould and actually give us a bit of a novelty European run although it will be very hard fought.

  6. The Polish international is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal following a six-month investigation. A number of complaints were received by police after the SPL match against Rangers at Ibrox on February 12, which Celtic went on to win 1-0. Boruc, 26, is said to have angered a section of the home support after allegedly making the religious gesture. A Crown Office spokesman said: "A report has been received and it is being considered." A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said: "The circumstances surrounding the alleged actions of a football player during the Old Firm match at Ibrox on February 12 2006 have been investigated and referred to the procurator fiscal at Glasgow." The Polish goalkeeper, who played during this year's World Cup in Germany, signed for Celtic from Legia Warsaw in July last year.
  7. Has a story about 'Craptic jokers' swapping the Cup Winners Cup for a Lucozade bottle in the Ibrox Trophy Room. Now, this story has only ever been highlighted on 2 websites, FF and Terrorist Minded. So, The Sun MUST have picked this up from either site. Now, this is where it gets interesting - the bottle of Lucazade is a dig at as FF poster who sadly died whilst posting on FF one night - he had a reputation of banter with Tims and always won his arguements with jovality and facts. In fact, the thread on Terrorist Minded about this photo included Tims holding a 'God Bless The Pope' scarf at the FF posters memorial brick outside the Broomie Stand (yes, they actually searched the entire wall for his brick). Tims have also used his name whilst phoning up phone-ins and having digs at him, Rangers and the Rangers fans. There are no depths these these scumbags, yes, that is what they are, won't plummit to. And as for The Sun, they know the whole story, yet print this as a joke by Tims. Aye, some fooking joke. http://forum.followfollow.com/showthread.php?t=134956 Cammy F
  8. Ok, I just heard what is meant to have happened on the plane by someone who's very close to the inside of Ibrox. "Ricksen went into the bog with his polo shirt on andcame out wih a wee white lycra style t-shirt on showing off his muscles etc. He came out and started shadow boxing and posing in the mirror outside the loo. The players were in stitches He came back to his seat, lashed down some more port and got the laptop out. He was sitting next to an older guy- not a rangers employee and the old guy was sleeping and had the wee mask thing on Ricksen then pulled the mask away from his face and let it go like an elastic band -the guy near shit himself and wasn't amused The laughter at Ricksen brought a stewardess up to see what the noise was-then she saw the laptop and told him to put it off. He refused and told her to get him another drink and shut up She refused and gave him a dressing down -he then threw the water over her." Apparently PL was in his seat further back - he came and asked the older guy to go to a different seat and he put Lawrence Mcintrye and a steward beside ricksen. Seems West Brom are interested in him. That story is as reliable as any you've heard, maybe more so.
  9. Firstly I'd like to congratulate every Rangers fan at Ibrox today for not playing into our enemies hands. Despite going 2-0 down, despite some provocation from the away support and despite there still being a lack of clarity with respect to some songs, our fans handled themselves impeccably. Afterwards, while driving home, I knew it wouldn't take long for the lies and misinformation to begin. Despite the SFA/SPL advisor being delighted, despite the Match Commander being delighted and despite our chairman being delighted Jim Traynor was allowed to try his utmost to change the neutral's mind. His agenda was clear from the outset as he admitted attending the game only to listen to our fans for sectarianism. Eventually, his female accomplice read out an email (30mins later) regarding this incredible comment and he struggled to answer and stuttered on about who the emailer was. No answer was forthcoming. Neither were any Rangers fans wanting to talk about the issue allowed on in the first hour of this programme. For those who weren't at the game and those, like honest Jim, tuning in only to help UEFA enforce their new directive, Derry's Walls, The Sash and Rule Britannia were all sung. All 3 are good, honest folk songs and while they might not be immediately associated with football, they are songs we should be able to sing proudly without being branded sectarian. Jim Traynor and his ilk can try all they want to decry us at every opportunity. Thankfully at last the club offered some back up. Now this may be too little too late for some and I appreciate that but I sense a change in the attitude somewhat. It may be slight but it's a start. Together by continuing to adhere to the directive and continuing to sing our athems like the above we can show the trouble-makers (and downright malicious liars) like Traynor and his friends we won't go quietly into the night. We had a poor result today but there were many positives to take on and off the pitch. I'm as proud as ever to be a bear. The quicker Traynor and muck liek him realise that pride and loyalty will never disappear the better.
  10. Didn't watch the game but seems to have impressed a few people. Anyone see the game and what type of player he is?
  11. Aided and abetted by their lapdhogs in the media but did they really think the consequences of their actions through? We have been battered from pillar to post by UEFA and they unbiased sections of the mhedia recently, but after this weekends affairs, it appears that the worn is turning and the spotlight could be falling on those who instigated this whole investigation. Craptic were reported to the SFA for their fans singing in the last 2 games of last season and will inevitably be reported for their singing yesterday and possibly for their attacks on PLG (he is not the first Rangers employee to be physically attacked by the scum). Rangers were widely applauded after the DUFC game where no sectarian songs were sung and the atmosphere was superb. The Match Commander also confirmed that there were no arrests at the game, a statistic that means we are still the best behaved supporters in the UK with an average of only one arrest every 2 games. We have now employed a very effective PR firm who are believed to be compiling a dossier of biased, sensationalist and impartial reporting by the media and actions that could be deemed offensive and sectarian from other fans in Scotland and this will be presented at some point. Media outlets let The Daylate Rebel and The Scotsman are reporting Craptics vile songs (only The Gerald arenââ?¬â?¢t) and ââ?¬Ë?reportersââ?¬â?¢ like Keevins and Britney are under pressure from their bosses due to their bitterness and nastiness towards Rangers and us supporters. In fact, the RST could be taking further action against Keevins for misrepresenting them on Saturday and I have heard Britney could be looking for a new jobââ?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬Â¦ So Timmy thought that this was a great way to get at The Rangers, and it was, what they didnââ?¬â?¢t realise is that this would backfire and see them receive the same treatment, if not worse, then we would. Keep those eyes and ears peeled Bears and keep reporting them to the appropriate authorities. And as they like to tell us, ââ?¬Ë?Their Day Will Comeââ?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬â?¢ Cammy F
  12. WTF?????? You're at Ibrox to watch and support Rangers not Chelsea so why wear a Chelsea top? And before anyone starts with the Rangers/Chelsea connection BULLSHIT to that.
  13. We all know that all eyes (and ears!) will be on us tomorrow It was clear last week at motherwell that some morons - and i use that word as it IS what i think of them - chose to sing certain songs louder than ever Can you PLEASE wisen up for tomorrow's game. Whilst we are certainly persecuted in the majority of the country's press, while we have no doubt been misrepresented at times, and while there is also no doubt over the fact that certain songs have been condemned that there is absolutely nothing wrong with (Hugh Keevins stand up please!) ..... none of this is a reason for us to continue giving UEFA the ammunition they need to shut down our stands or dock points from us. let our new PR consultants do the talking off the pitch for us, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider your behaviour if you are going to Ibrox tomorrow ..... If you truly consider yourself to be a fan of Glasgow Rangers (and we are a FOOTBALL CLUB after all) then please realise that silly actions will only hurt the club we all love further .... please don't make this fan give us hope, and his season ticket

  16. Olivier Bernard remains a target for Sheffield United, where boss Neil Warnock is keen to sign a left-back before the transfer deadline. Centre-half Marvin Andrews, linked with Hibs earlier in the week is now attracting interest from Championship side Preston North End. Jose-Karl Pierre Fanfan meanwhile is wanted by both Fenerbahce of Turkey and Spanish side Gimnastic.
  17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/5230772.stm Ricksen advised to leave Rangers Fernando Ricksen has no future at Rangers Rangers manager Paul Le Guen believes defender Fernando Ricksen should try to find a new club. "I told him (Ricksen) that perhaps it would be better to leave and discover another context and asked him to think about it," said Le Guen. Ricksen was sent home from Rangers' pre-season tour of South Africa following an incident on a flight. He returned to Glasgow this week but was not permitted to train with the rest of the first team squad. Ricksen checked into the Sporting Chance Clinic following his premature return from South Africa and underwent residential counselling for anger management. However, it appears he has no future at Rangers, with Le Guen saying: "Perhaps it would be best for everybody", when asked if he thought Ricksen should find another club. The 30-year-old Dutchman, who arrived at Rangers in 2000, has one year of his contract at Ibrox to run. Good riddence as far as I'm concernd. Only played when he was trying to win a contract. He disrespected the managers and the club as a whole. Sianara Fernando, one day you'll realise how good you had it.

  19. IMO we have a few things which need to be taken place both off and on he park. Off the park, id like to see the Non-Rangers chants stopped / new and old Rangers songs (re)introduced, the Club to get behind the fans more with certain issues and for them to take a stand against the media this season. On the park its first and foremost to get back to basics and playing football. I expect that will happen under the PLG era. He has brought in some good players and has set up a nice looking blend and I am in favour of the system. Firstly I want the SPL title back where it belongs, this would be my first priority. Any cup competition is always a boost and a lottery when we enter. The standard of the UEFA cup is not what it once was but there is some good sides in it, however I do not fear anyone in it and we are capable of beating anyone at Ibrox. Id like a Euro run this year. The Scottish cup has eluded us for a few seasons so Id like us to reach Hampden again. The odds are highly stacked against 4 trophies out of 4 and is too much to expect especially when we are entering a new era. So id like progress on the park with a settled team and system doing well and resulting in the SPL title and at least 2 good cup runs.
  20. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/06/07/20/SOCCER_Rangers.html&TEAMHD=soccer another twist in this story... dont know how much truth there is in it... but if it is true, its good to see someone that keen to come and play for us
  21. Neil Alexander (Cardiff City) Craig Gordon (Hearts) Graeme Smith (Motherwell) Graham Alexander (Preston North End) Russell Anderson (Aberdeen) Gary Caldwell (Celtic) Steven Caldwell (Sunderland) Christian Dailly (West Ham United) Jackie McNamara (Wolves) Graeme Murty (Reading) Gary Naysmith (Everton) Robbie Neilson (Hearts) Steven Pressley (Hearts) Andy Webster (Hearts) David Weir (Everton) Barry Ferguson (Rangers) Darren Fletcher (Manchester United) Paul Hartley (Hearts) Neil McCann (Hearts) Lee McCulloch (Wigan Athletic) Ian Murray (Rangers) Nigel Quashie (West Bromwich Albion) Scott Severin (Aberdeen) Gary Teale (Wigan Athletic) Chris Burke (Rangers) Kris Boyd (Rangers) Shaun Maloney (Celtic) James McFadden (Everton) Kenny Miller (Celtic) Garry O'Connor (Lokomotiv Moscow) The squad is seemingly just for a preperations session for Euro 2008 qualifiers, but still i expected to see Steve Smith in there, considering who's made it into the squad ahead of him!
  22. Simple question - would you prefer Rangers to win the CL or Scotland (or whoever your nation of choice is) to win the World Cup? As the song goes, It's Rangers for me
  23. This is not a post getting at anyone, but I thought that the start of a new season, with a new manager, new regime, new players, new system etc and with UEFA's sights firmly set on us, that the Rangers Chat would be very busy. I thought we'd have people discussing the new players, the new manager, the new system etc, but it's all very quiet in here. However, you pop into the Bluenose Lounge and the posts and threads are popping up all over the place.... So come on folks, lets get some topics of Rangers related conversation started.. Cammy F
  24. Read a thread on another forum where the question was asked, when was the proudest moment being a Rangers fan. Most of the answers brought back great memories, our great truimphs, last-gasp victories etc. However, one poster said that his proudest moment came at Tannidice the day we lost 10-in-a-row. After thinking about it, I can see where the guy is coming from and I agree with him. I vividly remember standing in the Fair Play Stand, applauding the players (who were in tears) from the pitch with every last one Rangers supporter that day singing the hearts out. Following Rangers isn't all about winning, following Rangers isn't about supporting 'any' football team... Cammy F - Lump In Throat Loyal RSC
