The Italian Football Federation's disciplinary committee has summoned Serie A leaders Inter Milan to respond to claims of falsifying papers concerning the transfer of goalkeeper Simone Brunelli, according to a report by Reuters. Brunelli transferred from AC Milan to Inter Milan in 2003, but after being loaned to several lower division clubs, he claimed the signature on the transfer document was not his. Inter Milan could be fined if found guilty. The transfer is also the focus of a separate investigation by Milan magistrates into false accounting by the two clubs. Last week, Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti and AC Milan vice-president Adrian Galliani were interviewed in an investigation into the way the two clubs controlled its balance sheets by inflating the prices of players it buys and sells. Neither of the men has been charged. The magistrates said they would hand over their conclusions to the FIGC, which would then decide if it would open its own investigation. Last September, Rome magistrates called for the president of AS Roma, Franco Sensi, and the former president of Lazio, Sergio Cragnotti, to stand trial for false accounting. Both men deny the accusations.

RANGERS chairman David Murray has ruled out a January transfer window swoop for Wigan defender Andy Webster. The former Hearts stopper has again been mentioned as a possible solution to the centre-back problems at Ibrox. He was the target of a �£1m bid by Alex McLeish 18 months ago, but Murray says he is not on Paul Le Guen's target list - for the moment. It is also believed Fifa red tape would prevent Webster moving back to Scotland just months after he became the first player to invoke their new employment rule. Webster served notice on Hearts he would be leaving after completing three years on a four-year contract. That allowed him to move for a nominal fee, set by a Fifa tribunal, to new employers outwith Scotland. The 24-year-old was snapped up by Wigan and, after a long process with Fifa because this was a ground-breaking case, he finally made his debut in October. But the Scotland star has played just three games and is said to be unsettled, sparking speculation Rangers were ready to move. "I know we were interested in him in the past, but not at the moment," Murray said. "How could we when we have no idea what the fee would be?" Murray also refused to comment on whether Rangers were interested in former Hearts captain Steven Pressley, who is also being tracked by Celtic, Newcastle, Southampton and Derby. It is believed Elvis is on Le Guen's list of possible January targets, and an interest has been posted with his agent Blair Morgan, but he is not the first choice. Le Guen has targeted two young centre-halves from Europe - one of which is believed to be Young Boys of Berne's 6ft 2in Ivory Cost stopper Steve Gohouri - a player the Gers boss has now watched twice recently. He could be available for around �£1m, but is also being monitored by a host of mid-table Premiership sides. Le Guen's funds for a centre-half are likely to be boosted by the departure of Julien Rodriguez. The former Monaco man knows he is no longer first choice and could be shipped back to France with Rennes, Nantes and Nice all interested. The likes of Lionel Letizi, Gavin Rae, Phil Bardsley and Lee Martin are all likely to leave in January as Le Guen frees up money for three quality signings. Meantime, young Romanian sensation Marius Alexi could be on his way to Ibrox in a �£250,000 deal. The 16-year-old plays with Dinamo Bucharest and is already a first- team player. Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool are all said to be looking at the midfielder, who will arrive in Glasgow shortly for a week's trial at Murray Park. I know most of you probably won't remeber this guy, but he plays for Livvy, think he scored both goals in 2-2 draw last season. Anyway, he played well for Scotland u-19's and a few clubs noticed him. I make no apoligies for requoting this great post from the Gub on FF. There may be many detractors of the way demonstrations are handled etc, and there is a fairly wide held belief that dismisses any kind of protest as the work of cranks, FF radicals etc etc. The fact is, it isnt. The following gives, for me, a perfectly correct valid and true summation of the last few weeks of the way the club has handled some affairs. It doesnt include the lack of defence of the support or the club from paper attacks (like the Papish Nazi park invader etc) but gives a flavour. It is based on facts and facts alone. People need to understand that these "cranks" that have been subjected to all sorts over the last few weeks, have been living and breathing these facts for quite a while...anyway, enough rambling from me... "How much lower can we actually go? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To say the last fortnight following the fortunes of our club has been something of a trial is to understate the point. First off a yahoo scumbag with a Hitler Youth t-shirt was allowed to run some 100 yards from his seat in the East Enclosure to the goal at the Broomloan end without so much as a ââ?¬Ë?Hey were do you think youââ?¬â?¢re going sunshine.ââ?¬â?¢ If nothing else it does highlight the quality of our security and the hired goon in charge of it. Then there was a defeat to the crap at the bottom of the table after getting a goal of a start. And of course the first time in our 134 year history that a side from a lower division knocked us out of a cup competition at home. Ouch, ouch and thrice ouch. However that is the good bits. Last Monday I was informed of the death of Bobby Shearer, a Rangers great. A true blue, 100% died, in the wool Ranger and lifelong bluenose. Sad as Mr Shearerââ?¬â?¢s passing was, it was common knowledge that he had been ill for a time. The people running our club however took a sad song and made it worse, much much worse. They caved in to west of Scotland yahooery and told us that there would be a minuteââ?¬â?¢s ââ?¬Ë?applauseââ?¬â?¢ at Ibrox before the League Cup tie that (last) Wednesday. Truly nauseating; ONE-HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FOUR years of tradition wiped out in a heartbeat. Itââ?¬â?¢s the way of the world the club told fans who mailed or phoned up to complain. One Rangers fan I know was told ON the Monday afternoon by a club spokesman after complaining, that the club came to the decision of a minuteââ?¬â?¢s applause after consulting with a few ââ?¬Ë?former captains.ââ?¬â?¢ How do I know this? Well, because I was in his company and he was actually on the phone and I saw his reaction as the conversation ended. Another good Rangers fan and respected poster I know got a hold of Sandy Jardine again on the Monday afternoon and was told by our former player that ââ?¬Ë?Traditions changeââ?¬â?¢. That is TWO different reasons/excuses given by the club on the same day. I have saved the worst for last. Again last Monday afternoon, another well kent and respected Rangers fan on this site got through to Sandy Jardine and he was told that the reason that there would not be a minuteââ?¬â?¢s silence was because (wait till you hear this one) Rangers fans reacted badly to Aberdeen fans when they booed the minuteââ?¬â?¢s silence for George Young at Ibrox back in January 1997. Rangers fans reacting badly to the actions of a motley shower of filth is the reason why the club were going to have a minuteââ?¬â?¢s applause for Bobby Shearer? You just couldnââ?¬â?¢t make it up. Not only was this excuse beyond the pale, it was lies pure and simple. If Rangers fans reacting to Dolly was a catalyst within the club back in 1997 to change our stance on minuteââ?¬â?¢s silences, then Why a minuteââ?¬â?¢s silence for Diana later in 1997? Why a minuteââ?¬â?¢s silence for the victims of Omagh in 1998? Why a minuteââ?¬â?¢s silence for Jim Baxter in 2001? Why a minuteââ?¬â?¢s silence for the victims of 9/11, also in 2001? Couple of newsbits I took from the official site, thought they were interesting. SENEGALESE midfielder Makhtar N'Diaye could be on the way to clinching a contract with Rangers while manager Paul Le Guen continues to search for a striker. Mahktar N'Diaye in action against HamiltonN'Diaye seemed to impress manager Paul Le Guen with his performance in tonight's 4-0 win over Jomo Select, playing most of the match in a central midfield position. Le Guen knows him from old having worked with him at Rennes four years ago and he wants to make sure he is up to the job. The manager said: "It is possible he could win a contract. I thought he did well in the match with Jomo Select. He has been working hard and I will make a decision at the end of the week." Le Guen is still on the hunt for a frontman. He said: "I am still looking for a striker." Wasn't overly chuffed when we took this lad on trial in the first place, but if he's impressing a guy who seemingly has high standards, then fine. As long as he isn't asking for big wages. It would give us decent options in the central midfield position with Fergie, Hemdani, Clement and now him, so it seems. PAUL LE GUEN has revealed that Charlie Adam could have a big future with Rangers after the youngster grabbed three goals in tonight's comfortable 4-0 win over Jomo Select. Adam spent all of last season in the First Division helping St Mirren to the title and his future was unsure. However, Le Guen has involved him heavily in the pre-season programme so far and reckons he could have a role to play in the season ahead. Le Guen, who was generally satisfied with the team performance, said: "Charlie was the man of the match, of course, and I was very pleased with him and his goals. "I know he was on loan last season, but he has talent and he has worked very hard so that is pleasing. He can be a part of my squad for sure. "Overall I felt it was a good performance from the players. They all did well. I was happy with the new players. I knew they would be fine because they are sharp and fit." This I'm happy with. I've always been a fan of wee Charlie, and God knows we need a player with a decent left peg. Thought a verdict was meant to be reached by today but this is the latest i have found - It was the turn of Lazio president Claudio Lotito to plead his innocence in the Italian match-fixing trial on Thursday. Former Juventus chief executive Antonio Giraudo and Fiorentina owner Diego della Valle argued their case yesterday, but Lotito's representatives went for a different tack. On Wednesday, Juventus appealed for a reduction to their punishment - an enforced relegation to at least the third division and a points deduction next season. Juve's defence lawyer Cesare Zaccone said "an acceptable punishment would be (relegation to) Serie B with a points deduction", but this has been interpreted as an acceptance of guilt, and Lazio will not be following suit. "We are calling for complete acquittal, both for the club and for the president," explained Lotito's advocate Gian Michele Gentile before chief prosecutor Cesare Ruperto. "There is no wrongdoing, Lotito didn't even have (former FIGC president Franco) Carraro's telephone number. "We will not be doing what Juve are doing because we have nothing to admit since we are absolutely innocent," he added. The same line is being taken by AC Milan and Fiorentina - the other two teams in the dock - who are unwilling to accept the punishment in any form. "We are shocked by the recommendations of the federal prosecutor of sanctions which do not correspond to the facts," said Milan's advocate, Leonardo Cantamessa. Meanwhile, Fiorentina's defence lawyer Giuseppe Morbidelli asked for his clients to be "released" in a defence file handed to the prosecutors. Pierluigi Pairetto, the man who designated which referees officiated at which Serie A games and is alleged to have been influenced in his decision-making by former Juve general manager Luciano Moggi, also laid down his defence on Thursday. "Only Houdini would be able to fiddle the choice of referee," joked his advocate Giorgio Merlone. Pairetto faces a five-year ban and a fine of 5,000 euros (�£3,500) if proved guilty of fixing the choice of referees. The trial, which is due to conclude this weekend, will see a total of 26 individuals and four clubs in the dock. Stefano Palazzi, the federal prosecutor at the trial, has recommended that Juve be relegated to at least Serie C and handed a six-point penalty, with Fiorentina, Lazio and Milan demoted to Serie B with varying point deductions.

PAUL LE GUEN will invite three players to Ibrox on trial this week as he continues his Rangers revolution. Record Sport understands former Marseille striker Cyril Chapuis, Senegal's World Cup 2002 midfield player Makhtar N'Diaye, right, and Juventus youngster Davide Tesotti are expected to check in at Murray Park over the next 24 hours. All three will be given the chance to win a place in the Frenchman's rebuilding programme. The offer will come as a lifeline to both Chapuis and N'Diaye who were key men in Le Guen's Rennes team but whose careers have been in decline almost ever since. Chapuis was tipped for big things when Le Guen sold him on to Marseille in January 2002 but his career at the Velodrome failed to take off. He was loaned to Leeds United two years ago but played just one top-team game then had spells at Strasbourg and Ajaccio. He has spent the last six months out of football after a proposed move to Belgian topflight outfit FC Brussels fell through. Le Guen knows enough about the player, who was born in Lyon, to offer him this chance to resurrect his career. The same can be said of freekick specialist N'Diaye. Still only 24, he has spent the past 12 months in relative obscurity in the Swiss League with minnows Yverdon-Sport. But perhaps the most intriguing of the trio is Davide Tosetti, who has been plucked from the Juventus youth ranks. Tosetti, also a midfield player, is only 18 but has been a big part of the Turin giants' successful youth team. However, all the scandal-hit club's youngsters were asked to report for crisis talks last week amid growing fears Juventus could face relegation this summer as part of a probe into match-fixing.
