  1. Officially appoint Van Gaal, with Giggs as assistant, and the latter retiring from playing. Ryan Giggs has to go down as one of the best players of all time in the English league and probably goes ahead of Charlton and Best as Utds best ever player. Van Gaal should improve Man Utd from last season but I think he'd have done a better job bringing his own team in and think having Giggs as No.2 has been pushed onto him. But they have to make some real signings in the transfer market as that squad is very average.
  2. **This post has been approved by Frankie** ⚽⚽⚽⚽Football Fans (aged 18 +) Wanted ⚽⚽⚽⚽ Hello all! Could you please spare me 3 mins to help with my survey? I am a researcher at the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science at LSE. I am conducting a research with scholars at University of Oxford on the emotions football fans experienced during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The study divides into 2 parts. The first part requires you to fill in a 3-minute survey about your favourite team and your basic information. Lottery prizes up to £250 (~€283/ $333) availa
  3. Hi Bears! Me and some other students from Liverpool are taking a look at what it means to be a Rangers fan. We have a short survey that we would really appreciate if you could fill out to help us get an insight into how the fans feel about their club. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/RHFRGK8 Below you will find a link with some information on why we are doing the survey as well as how we will use the data. 4. A few months ago rbr suggested that likeminded Gersnet members could donate towards a lifetime membership of Rangers First. There was reasonable level of interest at the time, but for whatever reason it didn't translate into action. A lot has happened since then in the struggle for control of Rangers and the recent requisition for an EGM has galvanised supporter opinion, leading to large numbers of new sign-ups for both RangersFirst and the RST's BuyRangers scheme. The Gers Forum were among those signing up this week, having raised £1000 in 24 hours to buy 2 Rangers First Lifetime Memb
  5. Worthington Group are who effectively "own" Craig Whyte and Aidan Earley's claim on the RIFC assets. Also of note is the fact that the Liquidator appointed to Whyte's BVI based Liberty Capital sold Liberty Capitals holding in Worthington Group at 58p in a delayed notification trade one day before the shares were suspended. Wonder who the Liquidator is actually working on behalf of? http://ftalphaville.ft.com/2015/01/13/2085432/a-worthington-tale/?
  6. Stuff some block out time and again when talking about us and postmen, plummers and co. for these last few years. Stuff, that happens time and again, all over the place. And today again ... CHELSEA 2 - Bradford City 4 (that's the English third tier team) MANCHESTER CITY 0 - Middlesbrough FC 2 (that's the English second tier team) SOUTHAMPTON FC 2 - Crystal Palace 3 Cambridge United* 0 - MANCHESTER UNITED 0 *(that's the English fourth tier team) ... so none of the EPL's top four have made it to the next round against lesser opposition, only ManU with a chance to go through.

  8. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/king-maps-out-plan-for-the-future.117959899 The suspicion is that if the existing directors are unable to muster the votes required to hold on to power by conventional means they will attempt to do so unconventionally. The savage personal attack on King contained in the statement to the AIM Stock Exchange on Friday underlined what many had long suspected; the power battle at Rangers is going to be a dirty one. Nevertheless, King and his associates are already looking further ahead and formulating plans which they believe will enable the

  10. By Chris McLaughlin Lalit Modi, the first commissioner of cricket's Indian Premier League, has expressed an interest in buying a large shareholding in Rangers. BBC Scotland has learned Modi's representatives made contact with the chairman of Rangers' football board, Sandy Easdale, earlier this week. The groups talked about the potential sale of the 26% stake Easdale controls. It is believed a price has already been discussed. And a meeting could take place as early as next week. Modi was banned for life by the Indian Cricket Board of Control after they charged him with mis
  11. A ten-year-old boy on a Rangers bus was struck by a bottle thrown by rival fans before Sunday's Old Firm clash. The incident happened on Nutberry Court, near Cathcart Road in Glasgow’s south side, before the weekend’s league cup semi-final at Hampden. The attack took place when a Rangers minibus travelling to the game was surrounded by Celtic fans hurling abuse at around 12.30pm. A door on the minibus was opened and a bottle thrown inside. It struck the young supporter who needed hospital treatment as a result. The ten-year-old was taken to Glasgow’s Yorkhill Hospital where it

  14. The Company confirms that it has today drawn down the sum of £5 million from the credit facility agreement entered into between SportsDirect.com Retail Limited (SD) and Rangers Football Club Limited (RFC) and has repaid the loan of £3 million to RFC provided by Mash Holdings Limited (MASH). As a result of this repayment, all rights of MASH to nominate two persons for potential appointment to the board of directors of the Company and RFC have now lapsed. SD has the right to nominate two persons for potential appointment to the board of directors of the Company, but has not currently exercis
  15. Northern Ireland international Shane Ferguson is thrilled to have joined Rangers. The talented winger, who along with four Newcastle United team-mates have been loaned to the Ibrox men until the end of the season, conceded he’s over the moon with the move to the Glasgow giants, however he wouldn’t be available for selection as he continues to recover from a knee injury. “It’s going to be another few weeks before I get up to Glasgow but I can’t wait to get started,” said Ferguson. “Three of the lads went straight away and did their press conference and trained with the team but I ha
  16. THE nine-in-a-row skipper never shirked a challenge as a player and refused to hold back on his assessment on the players who are following in his footsteps. RICHARD GOUGH has labelled the current Rangers team the worst in history and fears for the very existence of the club if Dave King fails to gain control. The nine-in-a-row skipper never shirked a challenge as a player and refused to hold back on his assessment on the players who are following in his footsteps. His comments will make uncomfortable reading for close pal Ally McCoist, who has assembled the current group, altho
  17. KENNY MCDOWALL cast his eye over new loan signings Gael Bigirimana and Haris Vuckic for the first time in training at Murray Park today and was impressed with what he saw. The two midfielders took part in their first training session this morning while Remie Streete worked with the Club physio Steve Walker separately as he has just came back from a slight injury. McDowall lead the session this morning as the squad continued to prepare for the Scottish Cup match against Raith Rovers on Sunday at Ibrox and he was impressed with the way the new players are integrating already. He said

King has called a press conference in Glasgow city centre where he is set to confront the challenges facing the club, now under the grip of Sports Direct tycoon Mike Ashley.
  19. WOULD-BE Rangers saviour Dave King held court in Glasgow earlier today as he outlined his vision for the future of the crisis club. He sat alongside John Gilligan and Paul Murray, the men he hopes will join him on a new-look Rangers board before the end of the month. King is convinced he has won more than 50 per cent shareholder approval to remove the current incumbents, with Rangers expected to confirm the date of the general meeting by Friday. King, Murray and Gilligan answered questions for an hour from daily newspaper reporters at the offices of PR company Level Five. We publis
  20. Exclusive interview: Ibrox director reveals why he believes he will oust the board – and why his tax evasion conviction is no barrier – as he lifts the lid on the battle for power By Roddy Forsyth 10:33PM GMT 04 Feb 2015 The extraordinary general meeting at which Rangers’ fate will be decided for the immediate future will be held on March 6, Telegraph Sport can reveal, but although the predicted propaganda battle began on Wednesday with a bravura performance by former Ibrox director, Dave King, he is certain to meet resistance from the current boardroom regime to his takeover at
  21. We asked the question last night about how much is being paid for the loan players from NUFC It turns out Rangers don't even know as Ashley hasn't decided yet. Must be the first club ever to sign five players without first agreeing how much they will cost. Discussion took place today and most likely outcome will be dependant on how many games they play. Wonder how they got that past the two Football Associations. Contacts claim the players were hawked around England first with no takers hence the reason we got them with half an hour to go in transfer window.
