  2. http://www.gersnet.co.uk/index.php/latest-news/309-seconds-out-dave-king-v-mike-ashley-the-big-fight-continues Ding Ding! As the bell rings out for another round of a fight that appears to have been ongoing for at least two years, one can’t help shake the feeling we’re now reaching the closing stages of this ceaseless contest. With Mike Ashley now having played all his secured loan cards and Dave King finally putting his money where his mouth is, surely the next three weeks will see this hitherto open-ended bout be won by one or the other? Certainly an EGM in early March looks as if it w

  4. “The dark eleventh hour Draws on and sees us sold To every evil power We fought against of old. Rebellion, rapine hate Oppression, wrong and greed Are loosed to rule our fate” I don’t think regular readers of this blog would describe me as what the media refer to as a “pop-pom cheerleader” of the various factions vying for control of our club. I’ve never seen the attraction nor sense of writing a blog to further the endeavours of rich businessmen who can afford their own PR machines. I’ve been highly critical of Dave King’s strategy to gain control of our club, and I stand b

  6. It is now a fortnight since Dave King submitted his call to stage a shareholder summit that could see the removal of chairman David Somers, chief executive Derek Llambias and directors Barry Leach and James Easdale. The South Africa-based businessman is seeking election to the board alongside Paul Murray and John Gilligan, but the Gers hierarchy have yet to set a date for the crunch vote. Their only response to King's call came 11 days ago when they stated they were checking that the notice was 'properly constituted' and valid, but they now have just a week left to comply. A deadli

  11. "Steven Mucklow, an known associate of Ashley agreed to underwrite the recent share issue to the tune of £4m, this likely lad likes a beer and social gathering, it also loosens his tongue. By doing so it would have allowed our esteemed board to reject any offer to underwrite from any other parties. The board had even went as far as writing up the stock market announcement before he predictably removed his offer with days to spare. This made it impossible for another underwriter to come in. What happened next was the share issue didn't raise the capital expected and low and behold his mate

  14. Drew Roberton, general secretary of the Rangers Supporters Association, admitted his sympathies probably lie with the board in the stand-off with the club's manager, Ally McCoist. McCoist, who has handed in his 12 months' notice, met chairman of the football board Sandy Easdale and director Derek Llambias on Wednesday. But they did not agree on a deal to end his three-and-a-half year reign now. "I've probably got more sympathy with the board in this one," said Roberton. "Ally as a player and as a manager has been well rewarded and I'm quite sure he will have other irons in the

GREEN says he's named a few horses Rangers names but he doesn't have one called 'Super Ally' as he said: "I’ve not got any regard for Mr McCoist.” EX-Rangers chief executive Charles Green is hoping he’s on to a winner with a new horse called Ibrox. Green, who now breeds horses named the two-year-old thoroughbred after his old club’s stadium. And he even kitted out the jockey in red, white and blue for its first race in France. 18. Following the news yesterday that Kyle McAusland had gone out on loan to Brechin City until the end of the year I decided today to have a look at who from the bunch of our reserve & youth players currently out on loan were playing for their teams today, so here's some brief news about them following today's games: Calum Gallagher - Calum played the full 90+5 minutes and scored the second goal after 41 minutes for Cowdenbeath today in their 2-1 home victory over Queen of the South.
