The only time ive stood back and thought England were awesome was when they stuffed Germany 5-1 apart from that there games have been nothing but boring. I put it down to the managers tactics though. Not really since Venebles days when he played the right system have England played good football. But its a shame because in Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney they could have a system which could see them capable of being a great side. but, are you then saying that the likes of robinson, ashley cole, gary neville, john terry, michael carrick, ledley king, david beckham, frank lampard, joe cole, stevie gerrard, wayne rooney and michael owne are average players? 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Take Owen out that list for a start, he's below average. King isnt there but wouldnt call him world class. They have above average players Colshy, but as a team there average. They need a spark and a change of system. IMO the spark could be Rooney or even Walcott. The change of system HAS to see a holding midfielder.
