Gerspride conference opened up to non-members

Due to the unprecedented interest in club affairs the Rangers Supporters Trust has thrown open the forthcoming Gerspride conference to non-members.

 

Gerspride will take place on Saturday 14th November at Ibrox Stadium and feature four speakers from around Europe. It will also feature a session on the current state of play with regard to Rangers.

The recent speculation over the ownership of the club and what form that could possibly take has aroused great interest from all parts of the Rangers family. Therefore the Trust has taken the decision to allow non-members to register.

 

The conference will run from 11am to 3pm.

 

Gerspride will be chaired by Brian Donohoe MP.

 

The speakers are:-

 

1/ Jens Wagner, a director of the Hamburg Suppporters Club.

The Supporters Club is the largest section of the NSV Sports Society. Jens will explain the unique postion of HSV in German football and how a large and succesful club can be owned and run by it�s members.

 

2/ David Palomar is an Espanyol fan and Catalan Socialist Party councillor.

David will explore the different models of ownership within Spain examining the pros and cons, the myths and realities.

 

3/ Jeffrey Donaldson, the DUP MP for Lagan Valley, will discuss managing change, media relations in a hostile enviroment and cmapaigning.

 

4/ James Proctor is the Development Officer for Supporters Direct in Scotland. James will brief us on developments within the Trust movement and also the latest news with regard to UEFA proposals to ensure parity of competiton by regulating debt and cash injections into clubs by wealthy owners which are expect to take effect in 2012.

I thought that it always was open to non-members.

 

The last one was very good, and by the sounds of it this one will be as well. However nothing really happened following the last one, and I feel the same thing could result. Unless the RST can get the club involved, then there is a high risk in nothing productive being achieved.

 

Any idea what time it starts at? If I do go then I'll pay at the door, which I presume is allowed.

11am to 3pm. Didn't say anything about paying at the door, but I doubt it would be a problem.

 

I agree that the RST failed to really do anything by way of a follow up, as far as I can remember anyway, and I would hope that anything of note that arises as a result can be taken forward and presented to the club.
