How Robbie Keane could end up as Scotland's Player of the Year

Recommended Posts

I couldn't give a rats arse who wins this farcical award. It's been won so many times by undeserving players that it's not worth caring about any more. The final straw for me was Caldwell winning it - what a joke.

Caldwell over Boogie. A man who played the same position but better than caldwell.

McGeady for a wee turn v Aberdeen and naff all else.

Maloney getting both YPOTY and POTY awards despite not playing regularly til half way through the season.

Nakamura for a free kick v Man U.

Ricksen having to share with Hartson because he scored a few goals even though the fact Boyd never gets nominated despite being top scorer and the fact that no one mentioned Hartson as a key performer for Celtic that year 'til he suddenly got an award from nowhere.

Strachan over Smith despite losing the league.

Reid over Smith despite our quadruple attempt.

Both the players and football writers awards for player and manager of the year are farcical and have been for years.

All but one of Keane's goals have come against teams below the SPL top six.

5 v Killie (though none of those in the league defeat)

2 v Falkirk

1 v St Johnstone

1 v Dundee Utd

1 v Sheep

1 v Dunfermilne

It should be noted, he failed to score against Rangers or St. Mirren.

Excellent record. There can't be another choice surely!
