Murray eager for Gers sale

Recommended Posts

"A buyer would pay a figure to buy a debt-free club. Rangers are in a much-improved position."

Does this mean the figure would be whatever the debt is at the time.

Presumably so + any fee Murray manages to obtain for the transfer of his shares.

If the debt is £25m and Murray recoups his initial outlay of £6m then the fee should be £31m.

However, be warned it is season ticket renewal time and Murray comes out around this time with a rallying cry - this years effort is new owner(s).

Then it would benefit any potential buyer to wait 6 months, until the debt was lower. Unless there was another buyer on the scene.

To me, the club must be worth a fixed amount - say 31M. If the debt goes down then Murray pockets the rest.

Say the debt was paid off, the club would obviously be worth more than £6M.

In fact, I think the club is probably worth nearer 60M - but due to the banks being idiots, causing a collapse, the resultant recession and Loyds taking it out on our club, combined with Murrays empire being in deep doggy doo-doo, the price is a bargain at the moment.

Another factors keeping it low is the uncertainty in Scottish football due to our now relative paucity compared to England and other countries in Europe.

Right now Rangers are a rock bottom bargain, which begs the question why potential buyers are prevaricating...?

PS Seems like a great time for fans to take ownership of the club - it will never be cheaper and in a football anomaly we'd probably all make money on our shares...

Im suprised those in the boardroom havent actually taken this route themelves. seems the logical thing to do.
