The 6ft 4in stopper is heading into the final year of his contract after arriving from Nantes in 2009. A figure of around Ã?£1.5million is being mentioned. However, Panathinaikos and Olympiakos are also hovering, but sources in Greece say they are not keen on matching Kavala’s valuation for the player who has been rated as one of the best central defenders in the country this season. Apparently there's some strength to the rumour, although even if we could afford to buy him I doubt he'll be willing to play for the wages we'll have on offer. Gattuso remains a rumour too with him supposedly mentioning coming back to play for us in an Italian press conference. I'm hoping Jelavic doesn't have a release clause or a good release clause if Villa are willing to pay �£24m (potentially) for Bent, Then we should get �£10m+.
