The Bears are having a party!

They won't touch us on those songs, because then they would have tackle countless other little dittys from around the league.

Kind of heading back to square1 on this debate. Which is should a government legislate against freedom of speech no matter how offensive?

THEY may not be able to touch us on those songs because of the repercussions towards them.

However, where I think you are being naive is that your statement would suggest it is only about Rangers vs Celtic. It isnt. We are portrayed as scum (wrongly so) amongst many of the other SPL club fans, as well as others.

So whilst THEY may not touch us, we are not doing our own credibility any favours by chanting such distasteful stuff.

The BEST way to "beat" the Tims, IMO, is to be completely innocent. Then they have nothing to get offended at, no mock offence. But.... it also means the rest of Scotland cant get offended at us either... and what will happen then ? My reckoning is that the tide of attention will fall on Celtic.... and when their IRA-oke is highlighted.... with no "big bad Rangers are worse" to tag them with... then they will have nowhere to hide.

Because, lets not be kidded, Celtic have been hiding for YEARS behind the "Rangers are worse than us" philosophy. And they have done so well. And we have let them.... because we have used such ditty's as the one we are debating right now.

We have, basically, played into their hands. And it is time we smelled the coffee and realised we need to be smarter. And, to be fair, to a large extent we HAVE done that.

Craig they could parade onto the pitch at halftime in camo uniforms and wearing ski masks and fire a volley of shots in homage to every dead murdering IRA terrorist, it wouldn't get reported its not news now because we're not the news.

I agree with you.

But that doesnt mean we should have a "fuck it" attitude. If we do, we will be hung, drawn and quartered.

We need to fight smart. Saying "well the Tims dont get into bother so lets just sing what we want and screw the consequences" isnt the way to go about it either.

Up till now they have, IMO, been smarter than us. But that tide is turning slowly.

If we think about how we react to when they do the less savoury stuff. Are we offended - not usually; are we actually pleased - a lot of the time we are as it shows them up in front of the world. Think of their "Bloo stained poppy" banner. Were we "wound up" or almost gleeful that the whole of the country were enlightened to their obnoxiousness?

If they were trying to wind us up then it was a spectacular own goal. Trouble is we score the same own goals time and again and rather than winding them up it gives them ammunition in their hate campaign against us. They lap it up.

It seems to me that the less we do wrong, the more they are wound up - in fact that is why they are getting more and more desperate in their attempts to disparage us: because we've cleaned up our act somewhat since UEFA started taking action.

If we're clever and give them no ammunition at all then that could send them into apoplexy and meltdown. At the same time we could be more witty and funny about what we sing and keeping it football related and above legal reproach - that would be much more of a laugh.

Think about it, what's funnier, a clever comedian who parodies current events, or one that just continually spouts uncouth and un-PC comments about minorities? Schoolboys may like the latter but it gets old pretty quick never mind 50 years or more.

But the biggest laugh would be watching them try more and more pathetic attempts to bring us down while the world shakes its head in total disgust at them.

Am not calling for a fhuck it attitude am not calling for any attitude actually. IMO we have won the singing war that's why the media have dropped it off their agenda.

The war now is what else are we going to be told we can't do, you can't have freedom of speech for the sensible people but not for the muppets in society. You can't tell someone he can't say that because you find it offensive, the guy standing next to you can say well I don't find it offensive, we end up going around in circles.

You can't legislate your, his, her, the guy next doors level of offensiveness it's impossible. You can teach the kids what's right and wrong, but there comes a time when they decide for themselves what they think is right and wrong. It's called being human and we are all different thank fhuck.
