Rangers may be without influential defender Dorin Goian on Saturday after the defender missed training through illness.

The Romanian is unwell and did not report for training at Murray Park with the rest of the first team squad on Thursday.

Manager Ally McCoist now faces a wait before finalising his plans for the match at Ibrox and will have to consider replacements for the centre-back if he does not train on Friday.

"Goian didn't train today [Thursday]," confirmed McCoist. "He's got a little bit of a fever. He's feeling better today, so hopefully he will train tomorrow.

"But I would have to say he is a doubt for Saturday."

Fit-again Kyle Bartley is a contender to partner Carlos Bocanegra at the heart of the defence, while Sasa Papac may also be consider after recovering from illness himself to resume full training.

Not good news about Goian but at least Perry and more likely Bartley would cover.

He may still be OK, but if not, rest him as we should be looking to score, not overly defend against a team that has not kept a clean sheet in all of thier previous league matches.

If hes fit, he'll play. Ally likes his fitting as many defenders into the starting XI as possible.

I think we have more than ample cover with Bartley & Perry.

I would be inclined to give Perry the nod - he looks a good prospect for the future and should be given game time whereever possible. Kyle Bartley will be back @ Arsenal at the end of the season, so no long term prospect in the team.
