Bluedell 5,329 Posted February 14, 2012 Share Posted February 14, 2012 The administrators have confirmed that the club have not paid £9m PAYE and VAT following Whyte's takeover of the club. Paul Clark and David Whitehouse, both of Duff & Phelps, the corporate financial advisory firm, have been appointed Joint Administrators of Rangers Football Club, as of today, 14th February 2012. The appointment follows a petition for administration presented to the Court of Session in Edinburgh today by HMRC following the non-payment of circa £9m PAYE and VAT following the takeover of the Club in May 2011. This suggests that: 1. Whyte never had any intention of not going into administration. Why else would you not pay that amount of PAYE and VAT. 2. Whyte lied when he said that administration was not plan A, plan B or plan C. 3. Whyte lied when he said that there was not unpaid VAT and he lied when he said last month that there were no concerns over cashflow. 5. if the club was not in a position to pay its PAYE and VAT then it was trading while insolvent and whyte could again be banned from being a company director. 6. there are more questions to be asked about where all the cash (Ticketus £20m+, Whyte £30m+, Jelavic £6m) has gone. Whyte said that we had a £10m shortfall but if he isn't paying £9m of liabilities plus bringing in all this cash then why are we in such a position today? How many other lies has Whyte told and will continue to tell? The admin team will get to the bottom of all this although going by your other post you reckon their in league with Whyte as well so it's still all doom and gloom. Was it mortgaged and if so how much for and where is the money? The details were never revealed. All that there was, as far as I remember was the registration of the charge to Close Leasing. Given 1 above, again agree 3. Yup, he lied again 4. Where is your number 4 ? Hiding the numbers are we ? :fish: 5. Whyte being banned from being a company director is all he deserves if he didnt clarify this prior to undertaking to not pay those obligations. 6. Yup, what HAS happened with all the cash ? I cant see that he has embezzled it as it would surely be too easy to find the money trail. SO just what HAS he done with it ? I suspect that given administration was the intent all along that he felt some of the above lies were necessary evils. PAYE, NIC etc could have amounted to more than the VAT bill. Had the interviewer followed up with a question that some amount of VAT hadnt been paid he might have had to admit that was the case (although, even then, he could hide behind the fact that VAT is a constantly moving number and is liable when sales are made anyway) 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
