Lennon has his say...

Recommended Posts

"It is obviously a very difficult time for the people at the club, he said.

â??For a club of that stature to be in this situation is a nonsense really, absolutely nonsense.

"I have sympathy for my counterpart Ally (McCoist) for what he is going through at the minute. I wouldn't like to have gone through that myself, particularly in my first season as manager.

So what do we make of this? Hollow platitude or does he really mean it?

I think it's more about Lennon's public image being crap and so this is A Good Thing according to Marketing 101. Celtic haven't held themselves well in the last few days and also it's worth remembering, Rangers are getting all the column inches.

For a club who don't need Rangers, they can't stop talking about us!

Something fires off in my brain whenever I hear or read anything about lennon. I don't believe a single word he say's.

If we beat the scum 6-0 and lennon said on the after match interview that the best team won I would still call him a lying bastard.

I can't help myself.

Neil Lennon has insisted that the 10 point deduction imposed on Rangers would not devalue a title win for his side.

Celtic were four points ahead of their Glasgow rivals before the SPL docked points from Rangers following the appointment of administrators at Ibrox on Tuesday.

With the 14 point gap making it more likely that Celtic will win the title, Lennon was asked if it would be viewed as a lesser achievement.

"There will be no devaluing a title win, regardless of what goes on elsewhere, because it is nothing to do with our club, nothing to do with these players,” the Celtic manager said.

"If people want to point the finger if - and it's a big if - we win the title then I will have plenty to say about devaluing titles, don't worry about that.”

Couple of points - If they win by less than 10 points, could we not count that as a Rangers win? :P

The last comment there, about devaluing titles, is that a not very clever jab about Rangers "cheating" through buying and paying players we couldn't afford?
