Clash that should be postponed but where's the talk of a postponement?

Recommended Posts

I think most of us already find it interesting that while Rangers are in administration and not at full strength (to put it mildly), the club's being investigated by the SPL and SFA over things they, as the governing bodies should have had a tight grip on in the first place.

Let's be honest, if the footballing authorities in Scotland want to run "fit and proper person" tests, it might be a smart idea to run the tests before the takeover of a club. Is that a concept that's particularly difficult to comprehend? You have to wonder.

Instead of conducting rigorous tests before club takeovers, the SFA are seemingly willing to allow charlatans and con men to buy Scottish football clubs and send them into the abyss. Where's the process that might stop this from happening?

It's an interesting question in the current times because the people who run Scottish football don't seem to be doing a particularly good job of it and they haven't produced any sensible answers to these questions.

They're all of a sudden talking about new changes to rules & regulations since Rangers went into administration, which is suspiciously timely. Is that what you call opportunism? Several clubs are right on the edge of survival and yet nobody seems to be accountable for the issues. Except maybe Rangers.

Well, speaking of accountable, this all happened under the watch of Stewart Regan, the current CEO of the SFA. What does he have to say about the whole situation? Not much I'd imagine, but if he did say something it would maybe involve calling people (or football clubs) liars or perhaps blocking people for asking genuine and important questions on social networking sites.

Cheerio Mr. Stewart Regan, it's been nice knowing you.

The SFA,Regan, are really showing their true colours with the way they are laying into Rangers for all the world to see, where instead they should be there to help and support one of their members, especially their biggest and most successful members who do more than any other club to put Scottish football on the European & world map.

Totally agree Zappa. Regan and Doncaster seem to be positioning themselves to "look as if they've been doing something."

I'm still wondering if Regan does not have some general duties in that area under UEFA rules. He certainly does under SFA rules. It's not cited specifically as a duty, but the description of being not being fit and proper are there, so that would imply they have a duty.

Of course if this game was to be played at the piggery and it was us that could win the title you can rest assured this fixture would be cancelled.

Because of the traumatic experience encountered by the Celtic players upon learning of the fate of one of the Killie-players' father, no doubt ...

The sfa are so determined to punish us, they fail to see the "big picture".

SKY tv cash coming in to Scottish football is only the most obvious.

In my opinion they now only have 2 options.

They keep pushing. Every day there's a new issue which in itself, would have been branded scandalous. ie. Lawell's association and history with Regan who was headhunted by a company run by Dermot Desmond's son,cfc openly bigoted management, cfc's refusal to tackle their fans' open sectarianism and never taken to task etc. etc. etc. Only this week we've had their manager ranting about officials (again) and the sfa keeping it's head down on the matter (remember Aluko's treatment when he "dived", and that was only a League game, not a showpiece final). Now we find the people investigating our Club just happen to be the one where Lawell and cfc go to for any legal matters.

The other option is that the sfa back right off ! Now, if this was to happen, it's my guess that the timmy hordes would not only demand they resign, but physically threaten them as that's their style.

So, everyone, where does that leave Rangers Football Club.?

Scottish football is on it's knees and has stumbled on for the past few years as money slowly disappears.

While this is happening, the sfa do their best to persecute it's most successful and best supported Clubs to the brink of extinction.

Meanwhile, down south, the organisation running it's game can't do enough to help one of it's Clubs to beat closure like the sfa used to do in the past.

It could be argued that the present sfa is in place to bring about the demise of Scottish football in order that while some Clubs will still exist, they'll have no League to play in.

Just a thought !

THIS SFA UNDER REGAN IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Spot on. Instead of supporting Rangers the way they should be, they're using Rangers to further and escalate other agendas... At the same time as trying to cover their own arses of course and that's possibly the most important thing for these people getting paid for pretending to do the best thing for Scottish football.

I read a small section in tue DR the other day saying that the "fit & proper" testing was expensive and time consuming, therefore it wasn't practical to do it for each & every possible case......yet so far, Craid Whyte is the only person to be checked for "fit & proper". Must be a VERY expensive & time consuming process if they can only afford to do it once.....

There was also a tiny wee section - no major headlines - saying that a letter had been sent to cfc/lemmon about his comments - he will be asked to esplain them at a later date. What explaining is required??? He openly criticised the refs performance saying the decision was criminal & that the ref has now cost them the treble......
