First summer departure confirmed.

The loss of Sasa won't really make much difference to the team to be honest. Wallace was probably going to replace him next season anyway.

He was a faithful and competent performer at LB but was a disaster at CH where he was bought for. Great servant of the club. All the best Sasa.

In the end he was an adequate LB, not stunning but adequate.

But does anyone remember his first few appearances in that position? Bought as a CH, he got shunted out to LB and his first few displays, tbh, were criminally poor. One match at Ibrox was possibly one of the worst displays by a Rangers player I can ever remember - could not control the ball, couldn't judge his position, kept giving the ball away - he was all over the place. But he improved and the first half of this season, up till when Naismith got injured, the competition from Wallace brought the best out of Papac and imo his July-November period was his best since joining us. After that it all went a bit limp and by the end he really did look like he wanted away.

Can't believe some people are saying Sasa was only a decent player, how often was he caught out of position? I could probably count in one hand in all the years he has played with us. Probably one of the most technical players we have had, knew his position (lb) and played it so well often the most consistent performer we had and loved a fly wee kick at the tims. Loved Sasa and earned his stripes as a blue blood.

The photo of him standing on the advertising board arms outstretched in front of the Rangers fans after the penalty shootist against Fiorentina will live with me forever.

A no nonsense player.

For someone so technically astute, his ability to close down crosses was abysmal. He was a decent player, no more, and half the reason he didn't get caught out of position was because he rarely ventured forward. He was a very defensive LB who didn't really offer effective balance on the left wing.

His distribution was often extremely poor as well.

You make him sound crap Danny which is a bit unfair.

To be fair the ability of left/right backs in the modern game to stop crosses is pretty much non-existent, so it's just not Sasa.
