The SC ban apparently wasn't deemed to be enough punishment given the gravity of the breach. Even if it was used, that would scupper the CVA, something which eould suit at least one party. The SFA still have the option of appealing yesterday's ruling which could throw another spanner in the works. It's a farcical situation.

Now for the SPL! :D

How can they appeal really as they gave out a punishment that wasn't even in their rulebook.

Cup ban will scupper the CVA do they really want to go there.

Not necessarily - paragraph 4.23 of the CVA allows Sevco to waive the condition that refers to continued participation in the Scottish Cup. Given the additional hurdles/punishments for a newco (being accepted by the SFA and SPL, 3 year Euro ban etc) Rangers would potentially lose much more by going down the newco route instead of accepting (say) a one year SC ban. On that basis, it's more likely than not that Sevco/Green would waive the condition.

perhaps plus a nominal fine for going to the law courts.

That'll be an interesting one. Under what Article and Rule do you propose they'll try to fine us? I'm yet to be convinced that they can legally do so. :)

Because the judge said that could - provided it was within 21 days. Rangers can appeal the verdict too.

Will be a bit daft as they are trying to punish us with a rules that doesn't exist stupidity/bitterness seem to go hand in hand at the SFA so wouldn't be surprised.
