Price of a season ticket next year?

Recommended Posts

It's time for those who love the club to show it. You are not really paying to watch East Fife any more than you are paying to watch Dunfermline, you are paying to support the Rangers.

If you think you are one of the people and the club is part of you then why would you deny the club money just because of who they are playing?

This is not a normal relegation, it's an anomaly that needs to be rectified as soon as possible. For that we need the full support.

I'd largely agree with that although it also has to be taken account of the fact that the quality of the Rangers player/team will be much lower. It's not just the standard of opposition that's changed.

Saying that, the standard of football has been poor for an number of years and the new team will hopefully be more entertaining.

Maybe people should not envisage this as being a service by a company/club to them, but their service to the company/club to stay alive right now and will hopefully be able to present you with European nights and Old Firm wins in years to come.

It is NOW that the clubs needs you and your money most.

Green should perhaps offer a 50/50 split ... i.e. 50% season ticket / 50% membership fee. Thus supporters get a first taste of being a member of the club and perhaps a few goodies along the way, possible a share in the new company as well. (If only for safekeeping of something very club-ish.)

The problem is that the quality of the Rangers team will reflect the amount of money the club have to spend which will be directly dependent on how much the season ticket is and how many renew.

When you buy cheap you sometimes risk not getting the job done and eventually buying twice. The risk is that if we lower season tickets and only a fraction of the "fans" turn up then with the greater costs we have to maintain Ibrox etc, we could struggle in the lower divisions for quite a few years and be a lesser club when we do get to the SPL.

I would rather go all out to get back there as quickly as possible and with the least damage done. To do that I think we it would help immensely if we had 40k season tickets at last year's price.

Basically you get what you pay for. There are so many analogies but how about a bunch of people in a club putting on a firework display. The more money you charge everyone in the club to come, the more money you have to spend on fireworks and so the better the display - however, it'll never be as good as the main one in the city where perhaps they charge 100 times as many people say a fiver.

It's not about value for money otherwise if you say well it's a low quality display so I want to pay less, then you're better just not doing the display at all and going to the city. In contrast, if you put up enough cash each then the display will be reasonably enjoyable and better than your neighbours' efforts.

People who want to pay div 3 prices obviously want to support a div 3 team. If you want to support a top SPL level team then you need to spend appropriately.

If you want to compare quality with spend and act like a customer then no-one is stopping you from being a customer of another team. in fact, one of Rangers and Scottish football's problems is that so many already do that via pay TV.

This is not about being a customer it's about being a supporter and/or a fan.

Even then, you have to ask yourself, would you rather pay less to watch your team of choice struggle to the top of the league, or pay more and watch them play everyone off the park?
