Davis for example was on 37k a week. you add a 2 million fee to his deal and you start to narrow options. naisy twice torn his cruciate. add in a fee and he becomes a risk. whittaker he will be lucky to be on the 23k he was getting here nevermind with a fee. If it was only about safeguarding their levels of income at their previous levels it was certainly an option for the players. Clearly the club couldnt afford their inclusion on a Div 3 budget, so they would have been sold, and probably to the same clubs they have all ended up with. The release clause fees were not substantial enough to put off EPL clubs who wanted them, it may just have affected their signing-on fee or wages slightly. I think the only thing you can say with any certainty is that these players would not be wearing our new shirt come our Ramsdens cup entrance on July 28. Yeah but others have earned far far more money than they should have over the years. MOst if not all have sinse disapeared when Rangers are in the shit. As i said, proper business folk from now on.
