Aye Derek !

........but then you decided you couldny be bothered running around up front and went for the easy life at centre-half.

Disagree with that mate he was put back because he was the best defender we had in Scotland at that time. Indeed while he was playing up front Tommy Docherty said he would be his first choice for Scotland at centre-half.

On saying that i worked in the Normandy hotel lounge in Renfrew at that time and he was regularly there on a friday night before the game on a saturday.

Agree with DJ there. When Boyd plays, if he doesnt score then its like having 10 men in the side. If he could add a few extra things to his game like DJ said then we would have a striker and a half in our ranks.

I think Coisty needs to have a few 1 on 1's with Boyd.

LOL Im very sure it was.

Whats the DJ stories then? Only saw the end of his career but did always like him.

DJ was well known in Renfrew in many pubs the Normandy being 1. There was also a pub down at the ferry where he was reputed to drink many bottles of Vodka. I can't think of the name at the mo.) His wife was also reputed to be one of the biggest shags in Renfrew at that time although i only have that from hearsay. I can say he was definatley not always sober on a friday night as i served him drink. but he did normally go home before he turned into a pumpkin.
