THERE could be exciting times ahead for the club’s Ladies programme as a new senior head coach takes charge.

 

Angie Hind has left her post as the SFA’s assistant national coach to head up the club’s Women’s side.

 

The appointment is seen as a major coup for the club as it seeks to improve its fortunes in the women’s game.

 

For the incoming coach there is plenty of reason to be positive with significant success achieved at youth level in the girls’ squads last season.

 

The club’s under-15 team earned a treble in the last campaign while the under-17 side clinched the league title too.

 

The challenge now for Hind is to see that success transformed in to similar results at a more senior level, where Glasgow City have until now set the benchmark.

 

Hind brings with her a wealth of playing and coaching experience having spent six years as head coach of an Ivy League school in the USA before her two year stint as assistant coach with Scotland.

 

However the incoming coach insists it is the resources already in place at Ibrox that make the challenge she faces an exciting one for her.

 

She said: “I think it’s an exciting time because the club has a tremendous youth structure and a lot of very talented young players.

 

“The challenge has always been to get a successful women’s side in the Premier League and for me that challenge in attractive.

 

“The opportunity to work with a club that has aspirations which match my own is exciting. I’ve been very impressed by the support and the resources that the club wants to bring forward for the women’s game.

 

“I’m going to try to bring the players along and to build a staff structure so that we have something that is really sustainable.

 

“That’s the key aspect. It would be one thing to bring in some players and shoot for a quick fix but that’s not the answer.

 

“We want to make Rangers a club that is going to be successful and remain successful in the future.”

For once - tongue firmly in cheek - the Rangers HP is faster than we are, but the "informed" people knew about these new coaches since about mid-December and were hoping that Rangers would make a statement anyway. Another new coach'ess will assist Angie Hind and a new article will take up on this too soonish.

As the new Women & Girls season edging ever closer, a new article covering events over winter will follow soon. Quite a bit to be reported, as we are making great progress on all levels - again. All women and girls, with especially the latter being very successful, signed up for the new campaign, some of the u17s sure to step up into the women/SWPL team.

 

As for newbies, we did recruit quite a few coaches and players, like this one:

 

Talented Taylor joins Rangers

A TALENTED young female footballer has signed for Rangers.

 

Taylor Davis from the 27th Greenock Guides is a very excited young girl after joining the Ibrox club's under-15 team. Her guider, Ashley McColl, said: "Not only is she a fabulous Guide but she is also a fantastic footballer.

 

"Taylor has been training very hard recently and it has all paid off with the big prize being signed for the under-15 team.

 

"All her friends in the Guides and also 3rd Finnart Rainbows and 27th Greenock Brownies & Lyle Hill Ranger Guides wish Taylor the very best in her football career.

 

"We are all looking forward to going to support her in one of the matches now!"
