RESULTS

U13 - Sat 31st August, Nethercraigs

Rangers 8 Hamilton Accies 7

Scorers: Amy Muir (3), Hannah Robertson (2), Amanda Brown (2) and Chloe McNichol

U17 - Sunday 1st September at Garscube

Rangers 2 Celtic 1

Scorers Kirsty Howat and Erin Cuthbert

SWPL - Sunday 1st September at Petershill Park

Rangers 1 Celtic 4

RANGERS STARTING XI: Ramsay, Barr, Condie, Paterson, Penglase, Foley, Hill, Sneddon, Ross, Cunningham, Harrison

RANGERS SUBS: Halliday, Swanson, Hughes, Lindsay

10' - GOAL RANGERS!

10' - Just as she did in the derby back in June, Karen Penglase scores against her former club and wheels away in delight after netting!

21 ' GOAL CELTIC. Fleeting taps in after a fierce shot is saved by Khym Ramsay but not held. The keeper looks to have hurt herself. 1-1

21' - This could be a big problem for Rangers as they don't have a replacement goalie and Ramsay is needing extensive treatment

25' - Ramsay is back up on her feet and it looks like she's going to continue, that's a real boost for Rangers. Warm applause for the keeper

28' - Another firmly-hit free kick from Penglase hits the target and this time Fay takes no chances. She palms away the shot for a corner

31' - GOAL CELTIC. Fiona Brown crosses from the left to ex-Arsenal striker Fleeting, who pokes in her second from close range. 2-1 to Celtic

45' - So close for Rangers! A long-range Jill Paterson free kick is arrowing for the top corner from 35 yards but Fay tips away for a corner

HT' - Rangers 1-2 Celtic. The hosts went in front through Penglase but Fleeting's double puts the Parkhead team ahead at the midway point

51' - Good chance for Celtic as Fleeting lays off to Mhairi Gilmour-McGuire but Ramsay gets strong hands to her shot and pushes over the bar

53' - Sneddon tries her luck from 20 yards with a swerving drive but Fay gets down well to smother a tricky attempt from the Scotland cap

55' - Patient build-up from Rangers, who eventually get a shot in from Cunningham but see it stopped again by the alert Fay

63' - Good effort from Penglase charged down as Rangers pile on pressure in search of a goal. Possible claim for a penalty too waved away

64' - GOAL CELTIC. With Ramsay caught off her line, Carla Jackson lobs her to make it 3-1 to the visitors. It's an uphill task for Gers now

72' - Sneddon comes so close! Cunningham's corner comes in from the left and she connects well but her flashing header clears the far post

76' - With that, Sneddon again goes close as she shoots on the turn after receiving from Foley. It's a corner to the Light Blues

76' - Nearly from Harrison! She gets up to head the set piece goalwards & it looks like going in but there's a defender on the line to block

87' - Great chance for Rangers! Natalie Ross finds space in the box to get on the end of Hill's through ball but she lifts over the woodwork

89' - GOAL CELTIC. It's a screamer from Abbi Harrison from at least 30 yards and that seals the points for the away team. 4-1 to them now

FT' - It's all over and it has finished Rangers 1-4 Celtic. It's a tough defeat for the hosts, with the final score a little harsh on them

FT' - The final score means that's four league defeats in a row for Rangers since the SWPL restarted after the summer break

FT' - There was a win last time out in the Scottish Cup though and that's what comes next. Gers host Aberdeen in the last eight next Sunday

FT' - Kick-off in that game is 2pm at Petershill Park, admission costs £4 for adults, £2 for concessions & kids are free with paying adults

NB: The Yahoos have got themselves a really good player with Fleeting, she's been years with Arsenal and one of the top performers for that good team as well.

Report on the game on the Rangers OHP

RANGERS Ladies recorded arguably their finest result of the season at the weekend as they held champions-elect Glasgow City to a 0-0 draw in the SWPL.

The result was notable for a number of reasons, most significantly because it was the first time in 69 games the reigning title holders had failed to win in a league fixture.

The score also arrested a five-match losing streak for Angie Hind’s team in the top flight running since the resumption of the competition after the summer break. ...
