GA, you get paid too much.... just get them all ONE set of boots, moulded studs. Much as though these days manufacturers classify them as HG or SG (Hard ground or Soft ground) the reality is there isnt that much difference between the two sets of boots.

That said, I do the same with my kid - I get him the SG and the HG boots. I am thinking, for the upcoming season, that I will get him the new Adidas Absolado's, especially as they are red, white and blue....

I have my first coaching session of the season tomorrow night... been promoted to coaching the U10's. Should be fun.

You've been in Bermuda too long Craig, and forgot what happens to a council pitch half way through winter, mudbath would be an understatement. Had the two oldest up in arms last year when they kept sliding all over the place and had to get them normal boots.

They have all now taken up golf as well so can imagine how much that cost me come birthday time in June.

The 4G surface over at Ravenscraig where the wee ones play is absolutely brilliant wish I could've played on that instead of the sandy carpet they called artificial grass back in the day.

..aye, I'm just back from a holiday in Spain and cant believe how f**kin cold it is back here in Glasgow, I reckon we're heading for a new ice age - brrrr!

Cold I can take but this constant rain is doing my box in, needed a pair of waders on the golf course on Saturday.

That headline first sentence is BS "Rangers sparked a war of words....." no they didnt. If you read carefully McCoist's statement he says he personally doesnt like them and thinks they can injure players but also goes onto say he appreciates why clubs have them and that we have to play on them. That is hardly a "war of words".

The Annan chairman, rightly, defends their use of an artificial pitch. What I do find a bit ingenious of the Annan Chairman though is that he says Templeton had "gone into a tackle" which suggests that Templeton was tackling someone. That too is BS. Templeton had the ball and someone tackled him. The way the Annan chairman portrays it is incorrect.

Either way though this is just negative headline-hunting about Rangers again. Every team we have come up against has been very complimentary towards the club, management, players, staff, fans - so they had to make something up eventually about "big, bad Rangers not getting along too well with their Div 3 counterparts"

Yeah, said properly, he's implying it wasn't the pitch, it was a hatchet job by one of his players...

...on Saturday I was lying on a roasting hot beach and frequently hitting the water, this morning I was down getting a loaf of bread with my northface jacket on, unbelievable for September mate.

Fair point Sir, we dont get it quite as bad as you guys.

I used to still slide tackle on the sand artificial stuff, and on the ash too - I remember clearing a shot off the line on asphalt with a slide... Felt great clearing a certain goal at the time..... but for the next week I was picking bits of ash out of my leg - and it burned like a mothertrucker !!

My 7 yr old got PING golf clubs for his birthday last year and is constantly getting the newest boots.... thank fck I only have the one kid. That said, his birthday is next week and he is getting a skateboard and the only other thing he is doing is sponsoring a World Vision Kid http://www.worldvision.org and anyone coming to his party can contribute to the sponsorship of the Kid - so some unselfish deed to go with his birthday.
