Dave King no longer "restraint"

Recommended Posts

Lies? So Green has never said he will float the club before Christmas? He has never said he is getting 10% of it?

Fair enough.

The process has started before Christmas, may or may not get underway before then. There has been no mention of deadlines and it's 2 million in shares he's expected to get, not cash.

Or is he expected to take no reward at all for months of hard work?

He's collecting a wage in the region of £300k per annum isn't he, according to himself or don't you believe Green's own words?

Aye, but he's probably going to be retiring in a few years. For saving our club i'd like to see him have a long and happy one.

Is his CEO wage anymore than the going rate? Lower than Bain's anyway.

So you now agree he's being rewarded out with his prospective shareholding?

Yes it's probably circa half the obscene wedge Bain was lifting but we'll have to wait for the accounts to know for definite (not 100% sure it's a required disclosure in the prospectus but it may well be).

Once we see the ratio of remuneration to turnover then we'll know if it's the going rate or not.

Green said 100% before Christmas live in a radio interview. He also said he is taking 10% of the flotation - is that not taking out? One thing is for sure, he has put nothing in. He is being well rewarded by salary, the 10% is simply what he is making out of the IPO.

True or false?

Yes but it was inaccurate to say Green has put some sort of deadline on anything, he's said people can invest later on if they wish. And it's worth noting the difference between shareholding and him being handed a cheque for 2 million.

10% of shares, not the IPO cash. That is staying in the club.

It's a difficult one to debate considering some will grudge him a decent reward, some will not, depends on point of view. I see him as the man who saved my club and am happy to see him be a richer person.

Yes his, by the use of the question mark you're insinuating that it's someone else's £20m, pray tell whose if not Kings?

Invested to make the team he loves bigger and better. Product was served to to him, wish fulfilled, no money back. Yet, here he is, 14-years on and claims shares et al?

I don't think anything said or done by King, Smith or Hart was out of order in any way shape or form for they all undoubtedly have Rangers at heart.

Methinks around the time of the takeover and soon after, King showed up time and again telling the fans to be wary and not to invest and whatnot.

Your own link proves that far from being "neck deep in tax trouble" he is now at worst waist deep and at best standing on dry ground, no?

There not solely smoke without fire. Do you think he has an utterly clean vest?

I take it that's a typo and you in fact mean not doing their job properly.

Typo indeed, mey culpa.

That's incorrect, he's always had the ability to invest and do business here albeit with the permission of the court as demonstrated by the unwinding of Murray Sports Limited for which King sought and was granted the permission of the court otherwise it could not have been facilitated.

That was exactly when?

Which begs the question why start a thread with it in the first place?

Someone's got to do it. And obviously, the article does not say anything about any future investment, so maybe someone on here with some more insight might know?

Of course people can invest later. that's one of the side effects of being listed on a stock market!

One of the main ones being the difference between what would be paid in income tax and what will be paid in CGT!
