Fantastic activities are being planned for this momentous occasion and weâ??ll keep you up to date with whatâ??s going on as we build up to the big day. Of course, Ally McCoist and his team are seeking three important SFL 3 points when they take on Stirling Albion. Indeed, they will be seeking some retribution after suffering a shock defeat to Albion at Forthbank on October 6. However, itâ??s going to be an event that all fans will want to be at as we celebrate the history, heritage, passion and glory of Rangers Football Club. Some of the greatest players to wear a Royal Blue shirt will be there to take part in the festivities. And we are delighted to say today that two real gentlemen of the game from the immediate post-war period will be gracing us with their presence. The legendary Bobby Brown will be 90 next year but the man who played in goal behind the famous Iron Curtain defence under Bill Struth immediately after hostilities ended is delighted to be involved. Incredibly Bobby only missed one match in six years as Rangers dominated the game in the late 1940s and early 1950s and, of course, was part of the historic 1948/49 Treble-winning squad. He will be joined by Johnny Hubbard, the little South African who was such a popular player in the 1950s and still travels to watch Rangers as regularly as he can. Hubbard is iconic in the sense that he is the last Ranger to score a league hat-trick against Celtic â?? achieving the feat nearly 57 years ago on New Yearâ??s Day, 1955. You can pay your own special tribute to these two men and a host more which we will tell you more about in the coming days.
