ALLY McCOIST admits heâ??s thrilled to have Lewis Macleod back in his Rangers team after being without the youngster for two games recently.

The teenager was absent for the meeting with Queenâ??s Park at Hampden and the trip to face Annan Athletic.

And although Gers won both games, they were unconvincing in each encounter and missed the drive and energy Macleod brings to the side.

Until he missed that trip to the National Stadium, the 18-year-old had been an ever-present for Gers having played in each of their first 26 matches of the season.

Macleod has made himself an automatic selection and has weighed in with three goals against Montrose and Elgin.

Ahead of this Saturdayâ??s game with Berwick at Ibrox, McCoist knows how vital his presence could be.

He said: â??Itâ??s important for us, especially in forward areas where you can see Lewisâ?? speed of play and thought is very dynamic.

â??I thought he finished his goal against Elgin extremely well at the weekend and he has become a big player for us.

â??He plays with urgency, creates things and indeed scores goals as well which is a massive thing for us.â?
