The teenager was absent for the meeting with Queenâ??s Park at Hampden and the trip to face Annan Athletic. And although Gers won both games, they were unconvincing in each encounter and missed the drive and energy Macleod brings to the side. Until he missed that trip to the National Stadium, the 18-year-old had been an ever-present for Gers having played in each of their first 26 matches of the season. Macleod has made himself an automatic selection and has weighed in with three goals against Montrose and Elgin. Ahead of this Saturdayâ??s game with Berwick at Ibrox, McCoist knows how vital his presence could be.
