rangers fans fall into a trap

Recommended Posts

lol no you wont. i have been to ibrox more than enough times to know that not everyone joins in.

Stick with it mate, get up (well don't get up you will be chucked out) and belt out a tune you will get some strange looks to start with, because we aren't meant to sing songs, sssshhhh don't tell anyone.

But same seat every week same tunes and you see folk around you start to join in, guy the back of me used to sing away all by himself, gradually someone else joined in now their are about 20 who get up and gives us a tune. Myself included when the mood takes me.

Maybe those who don't sing would be more inclined to do so, if the song sheet was more progressive & less political/religious centric.

It's possible but unlikely. They don't join with the Rangers songs at the moment and I doubt that they would suddenly join in if Derry's Walls was dropped.

There's a number of reasons for this, but possibly the biggest one is the season ticket system whereby people's seats are fixed and any new blood find it difficult to sit beside a lot of like-minded people. There's a lot of people who are in the 40s and 50s that may have sung when they got their season tickets in 1987 but they're now a bit older and less likely to join in and they're scattered throughout the stadium.

You would think the way some on here are going on, all we sing is religious/political stuff, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Some of the new songs ARE difficult to join in though unless you're jumping around like a daftie :D
