NEW: SFL Clubs Breakaway to From Championship (SPFL2)

Recommended Posts

Breaking from Gordon Waddell: 11 clubs about to resign en masse from SFL. All of SFL1, with the exception of Airdrie, plus QotS and Dundee are signatories

SPL have made it clear to SFL clubs they have 'vacancies'. New league will be referred to as Championship, not SPL2.

Currently Rangers not amongst the signatories - doesn't mean the SPL won't invite them to participate.

Poll on main site - please take part:

No doubt in my mind RFC will be invited into new SPL2.

I'd still like us to tell them to shove it. Same shit different clothes.

Doubt we would though.

Well.

First thing first. I'm pretty agnostic about this.

However if we are "invited" it had better be public knowledge and well publicised by our detractors. I've had a big stand up at work today and I'm not having eternal "cheats got in the back door" taunts being thrown at us.

No way.

So particularly SPL, SFA, our major detractor Club chairmen and the likes of Spence, Spiers and the rest of that opinionated rat pack better come out and tell everyone that we were wronged and now they're putting things right.

Aside from that, does the TV carve up still stand if we don't go along with it.

This could end up as war. These Clubs could end up with nowhere to play. Cue statement from SFA.

That is exactly what will happen no matter how anyone dresses up any sort of fast tracking. The only way we can win is if we do things right.

Are we in any sort of position of power here? A drop the embargo and we'll join situation. Are they desperate for us to join?

If we don't join, all they have is a change in the name of their league. They'll have no more money, no more fans, no more prospect of survival for many of them than they do now.

We should not touch this with a bargepole.
