It also means "modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit; not arrogant or prideful." I think you may have misunderstood me - I was criticising Mather, not those annoyed at his comments. However, the events of the last year have weakened us somewhat so there will have to be times we realise that position before commenting on some issues.
