It's probably no exaggeration to say that they'd back the club if it was run by the Mafia. Loyalty is so strong that it becomes unquestioning and unhealthy. For others, a growing number, there is a realisation that the ownership of this club neither respects or values them. The club has changed so much that it gets to the stage where people feel that it is impossible to fully back it and retain self-respect. In society at large, Rangers is a toxic brand, but across its own fanbase now there is a realisation that the club has changed from being a focal and gethering point for a large number of Scots to being a vehicle for a soulless corporate giant that is widely known for using zero hours contracts. From a low point, the club has descended even further, and decent people are finding that Rangers has turned into something cheap and nasty, something they feel quite distant from. Nothing but a blink of an eye in time and no permanent damage has been done, yet. That's like saying if someone breaks into your house moves the furniture around and makes them selves at home it is pointless to throw them out and move your furniture back as it no longer resembles your home. Back then and shortly afterwards was the time when there were small windows of opportunity that we were, for various reasons incapable to take advantage of. For Trueblue to somehow suddenly express optimism that we'll take on Ashely and get our way in a 'corporate battle' is seriously misguided and somewhat confused given how he seems to think Llambias needs to be given a chance. The only recourse is to built another house. Permanent damage has been done. There are supporters of many years who have lost the thing which consumed more of their day than family or anything else. The club will remain soulless for as long as the fans do. We are the life blood and the soul not the corporate entity grabbing the reigns. The club does not have an opinion or soul or show respect, men do. The club is a vehicle for our collective thinking,wants and desires, a vehicle that has been hijacked at this time. Absolutely nothing says we cannot get it back other than or subservience and defeatism. Its a matter of want. never mind the nonsense about Rangers being a toxic brand in society, society is the majority view, we are the majority. the gunslinger 3,366 Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 30 thousand are already not going and half of those who do are sympathetic to the cause. once we get the number going below 10k the momentum will be unstoppable. it will be hard to keep the number not going rising into next season with the return to the spl but the board are really really helping there.
