An interview with the Newcastle CEO re the new manager was described as most depressing. The manager to be is to have no say in signings or sales and will be given a list of the only topics he is allowed to speak to the media about. In addition the manager will not complain at any player being sold at any time if what is considered a reasonable offer is made. Any player who is sold is to be replaced by a cheaper alternative - and that replacement will not be chosen by the manager. Cup runs will continue to be discouraged as being harmful to league points. Unsurprisingly they also reported that going to a game at “St James’ Park” was very depressing now with their being little noise or enthusiasm.
