The thing is Andy if you take Phil many names and some of the other journalists, they are not looking for a middle ground they just spend their days looking for a stick to beat us with. If They can't find one then they will invent one. These people will never be objective no matter how much we cuddle up to them. Their whole outset in life is to hurt us.

 

That's true, but to someone like 3 names a ban would be meaningless. The best response to slander-merchants like that is to debunk their garbage - and with an open, well-run club, all the information required to do the debunking should be freely available to anyone who cares to look. Ideally, the likes of the RST or any friendly blogger would be able to shoot trumped-up accusations down in flames - and after being repeatedly "owned" what little credibility these career anti-Rangers have will be gone.

Absolutely agree with Thinker - how pathetic must it be to live your life like the people you mention?

 

But there's no question of cuddling up to people, simply giving them no genuine ground for complaint. I doubt anyone is naive enough to imagine that Rangers being run well and fans packing in the occasional lurch into bigotry will stop the attacks; but it would reveal them as agenda driven and ever so slightly obsessive.

The leaks and "info from our man in the city" will stop very suddenly and Phil and Co will be left with empty speculation and naked hatred without the pseudo credibility of the odd correct prediction or story. They'll never go away though, their raison d'etre is to hate Rangers, Rangers fans and to denigrate us as much as possible.
