Rangers First Purchase 250k Shares

Recommended Posts

Rangers First has today acquired an additional 250k shares in RIFC plc. This takes our total shareholding in the club from 3.21% to 3.51% and pushes us even further towards our goal of fan involvement at Rangers. This is absolutely fantastic for us all to have achieved this level of shareholding within 18 months of our initial launch. A massive thank you goes out to every one of you who has contributed to RF over this period.

Further to this acquisition our shareholding working group have also recently prepared some financial projections based on our members’ current monthly contribution levels. These projections indicate that Rangers First will achieve our first target of a 5% shareholding in the club before the end of 2015.

This will be a truly remarkable achievement by everyone involved with Rangers First to meet our first target in under 2 years. None of this would have been possible without the generosity and support from every one of our members.

In recognition of this Rangers First are today launching our #BeThe5Percent campaign. This is aimed at helping us achieve this first target in record time.

When Rangers First launched we set ourselves 3 main shareholding targets. 5%, 10% and 25%.

5% - To allow us to call a General Meeting if required

10% - To ensure that the club couldn’t be taken over by an unwanted bidder

25% - To ensure that we could safe guard major assets of the club such as Murray Park and Ibrox for all future generations

Every share we purchase will be held under an asset lock within the Rangers First community interest company and to be enjoyed by every generation to come of Rangers fans. Together we will ensure that all Rangers fans of the future will never have to experience the events of the past 4 years.

We are genuinely excited to know that the achievement of this first target could only be months away. There are a number of ways you can help us achieve this target even quicker.
