Hopefully Walcott gets a chance now. I don't think there's 2 ways about it though, he'll need to get his chance, he's the 3rd striker now unless Sven decides to play someone upfront instead of Rooney and Crouch ie Gerrard. CammyF 6,885 Posted June 21, 2006 Share Posted June 21, 2006 Think Rooney and Crouch will be the pairing England will plump for - he may use Joe Cole as well, this is a role Cole has played for West Ham and he certainly has the skill and pace to play the 'link role' with Rooney and or Crouch leading the line. craig 5,199 Posted June 21, 2006 Share Posted June 21, 2006 I may be in the minority but I happen to think that England's strength may be in a 4-5-1 anyway. Their midfield is very strong so if they played either Joe Cole or Gerrard in behind the main striker with a free role they could give the other teams a torrid time.
