Stewart Robertson on SSN within next hour

Warburton still has a lot to prove here. In my opinion a new contract can wait until after we are promoted at least. Probably best to wait until we see how we get on in the top league.

He will want funding for the top division will he not?

Yes and he'll get it.

Indeed! And maybe the Bears start buying the odd Euromillion ticket and see whether they can participate even more! Instead of questioning the board time and again and waiting for answers to their constant, repititive questions.

1. MW already has a contract

2. New contract = Increase Outgoings = Less player budget

3. Length of contract has never prevented a manager from leaving if there was a will

4. Go and join Rab in the 'Calm the Feck Doon Room' for 15 minutes

:snowman:

1. Improve it & incentivise him to stay longer

2. The money we have saved from paying the Malingerer (£14k a week) could have been given to someone who can actually manage

3. There would be no chance of him seeing it out but we would at least get decent compo when he goes. On current contract he will leave for buttons or nothing

4. Nothing frantic or anxious about my post, simply a common sense suggestion imo. Maybe you should go & take a business class or something to understand the concept of investing for a return & rewarding good work from employees. If not, you could always join Rab

MW's just over 6 months into a 3 year (??) contract. He has done very well so far, but he hasn't achieved the main goals that have been set ie. win promotion. No new contract should be even though about until he at least achieves that main goal.

Broadly speaking things are going very well but let's get promotion first, then see how he handles the much tougher challenges in the SPFL and whether he can develop the Plan B that undoubtedly will be required at a higher level.

I suggest you consider point 4.

If you don't think he will be snapped up soon regardless of whether we win the league or not, there is no hope. What he has done with the utter shambles he inherited is astounding

I find it a little strange reading the reasons behind not giving Warburton a new contract at this stage and thinking it is the exact same discussion we were having regarding giving Halliday/Holt new deals. Only a few months into their deals, and having won nothing, it is nonsense to be giving out pay rises when money is so tight to already happy employees.
