However it's not my door that will be knocked on, so it's easy for me to say that and respect admin's decision. The H word is a little more difficult as it gets used in other words: I'll have some chunky chicken as I'm feeling hungry becomes: I'll have some c***ky chicken as I'm feeling ***gry I've always found that sort of censorship annoying where the word can be in another word. Surely there is a way of doing this with regular expressions that avoids it but recognises it with surrounding non alphabetical characters plus a possible trailing 's'? There are so many sites where you see people who want to go for ****tails. Don't want to be cocky but I'm cocksure there's a cockup with that one, due to the cockamamie number of words that contain a certain four letter word, especially for Londoners who are flying plumbers that play badminton while strutting around in bright clothes. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

We live in a world which 30 years ago I would never have imagined. Scared what to say on a forum with fellow Rangers fans for heavens sake?? All due to SS Salmond/Sturgeon and the OBA, however it's a lot more to do with other things, their fixation on mass big brother control being one! To be on a forum, and again it's not admins fault, that's full of Bears and have to sit in fear of having your door kicked in by their storm troopers for using words, it's words we are using to describe others, is just breathtaking. Nobody is describing, murder, rape or robbery etc. But simply having a pop at our tribal rivals be they Irish or not. I don't have a problem with either word, if someone said they had just porked my mum with a horses joystick it might annoy me, otherwise it's shocking that I am typing this watching what I'm saying!! It depicts the Pope addressing Rangers supporters as "fellow huns". I am sure in the warped mind of the creator of this cartoon, it was intended as humorous. I find it extremely offensive, bigoted and also a possible breach of Scotland's anti-sectarian laws. In October 2008 Celtic fan Michael Devlin was convicted of religiously aggravated breach of the peace for wearing a T-shirt which bore a derogatory expression containing the word "hun". This is a term which is regarded by most as an offensive term for Protestant or Church of Scotland members. Anti-sectarian charity Nil by Mouth has clearly stated on a number of occasions that this term is regarded as sectarian and generally the polar opposite of the expression fenian. I'm sure The Scotsman would never dream of printing a cartoon which contained the word "fenian". This cartoon clearly perpetuates the belief that there is one rule for one group and another rule for everyone else. The fact that it made it past the editorial stage suggests that this wasn't an error of judgment on the behalf of one individual.
