Celtic and Rangers clash will be calmed by Offensive Behaviour at Football Act...

Are the law eagles really going to take action? If so it should be against Morton FC who's fans proceeded to sing about "the Billy Boys up to our knees in F8888n blood at the recent game that was not reported in the "honest media",obviously trying to get our fans in trouble. The legal situation is still as biased against us as it has always been in this small minded nation of ours,AND THEY WANT INDEPENDENCE from what?.

Dundee were also singing it today although I couldn't hear the words. It would seem we are the only ones not allowed to sing it.

As far as I could make out the Dundee fans were not singing those words Pete. "Fenian " is the word which for some obscure reason takes the vocalist into criminal behaviour.

''It was also branded “mince” by a sheriff who cleared a Celtic fan accused of singing a pro-IRA song in 2013.''

''Mark, 16, had his throat slashed by Jason Campbell because he was wearing a Celtic scarf as he walked home from a game at Parkhead.''

The Lord Advocate said the high profile case of former Celtic ladies player Megan McFadden, 20, who stood trial after admitting posting on Facebook “dirty Orange inbred monkey b*******” on the day of last year’s Old Firm match, sends out a message despite the not proven verdict.

McFadden, of Drumchapel, Glasgow, described the comment as “banter between me and one of my friends”.

The only message all the above send sout is that there is one rue for them, and one rule for the rest, particularly us. It beggars belief that British judges and sheriffs do not apply the Terrorist Act 2006 and even throw out blatant sectarian violations of the OBaFA ... because they don't think it makes sense. Where do we had that of late, ah yes, the "common sense" stuff. Utterly unrelated, but it is strange how the high ups in this business of legal cases and law enforcement do what they want, but hardly adhere to the law.

Did they not sing "up to our knees in St Mirren blood"?

It would be better to C&P the or part of th text rather than gie ailing papers hits ...

Celtic fan cleared after singing pro-IRA song

A Celtic fan who sang a pro-IRA song has been cleared in a landmark ruling that could have an effect on future cases where charges have been brought under the Offensive Behaviour at Football bill.

Sherrif Margaret Neilson cleared Celtic fan Calum Graham of singing a chant that was “likely to incite public disorder” after being accused of singing a pro-terrorist song at a football match.

In her judgement, Sherrif Neilson said that it was not enough for a song to be offensive to warrant a conviction.

The main problem they have is that dozens if not hundreds if not thousands of people sung and sing such songs, so how can you reasonably ban or sentence one of that horde but let the rest escape. To set an example? Maybe. Better if the police and the authorities grow a spine and simple ban away fans completely for a game or two, if they can't behave. It would essentially target two sets of fans and while drastic, it is probably theonly language they'll understand ... and start self-policing. Remember, this is not about football songs or even vile banter, this is about terrorism, racism, and sectarianism.

As for the link above and that verdict in 2013 (and many thereafter), how can judges and sheriffs go completely against exisiting law? That should be a topic raised at higher places than a sheriff court. I assume there is a ministry of justice? Can't think of many places in Western and civilized Europe that singing pro-terrorist songs is allowed, be it in public or in football grounds. And the latter has nothing to do with freedom of speech either.

They'll be knocking on doors of anyone using the terms **** or Fenian.

The use of phrases like Dirty Orange Inbred Monkey Bastards have of course been deemed acceptable along with the term Hun.

Scotland 2016.

To Bluedell I clearly heard the banned word.

Seems strange that they would change it just for our game (they've been using the version I stated for years) and fans from Greenock of all places would use it.
