Rangers retail & megastore

Recommended Posts

Couple of questions. Who owns the megastore is it the club or Rangers retail? I assume the club, is it then rented out to Rangers retail? Could the club not give notice of cancellation of rental agreement ?

Rangers Retail have a lease or leases that don't expire for more than 5 years but no way of knowing if that's the megastore or not.

Given the make-up of the previous Rangers board, it could well be.

Presumably the lease doesn't allow for a notice of cancellation.

I'm sure the board have looked at every angle on this, pity we can't up the lease payments to so,etching huge.

It was explained to me that Rangers had to provide Rangers Retail with suitable space within the Ibrox footprint but that didn't necessarily mean the space currently utilised by the Megastore.

Looks like The club has already made its move which will hopefully see the end of the retail agreement one way or another in the next year or so.

Looks like the club will continue to meet its legal obligations by advertising and wearing the new strip. While Rangers retail will be used to rip up the contract and stop the sale of anything with our badge upon it. That leaves little option for SD and Puma other than too sue Rangers retail which will ultimately see it seek bankruptcy. All SD can do is try and find a way around the licensing and trademark agreements. If they do not find a loop hole they have three options. 1.Do nothing.

2.Sue Rangers Retail

3.Negotiate a new deal that sees both sides happy.
