Dave King response #8.

You mean 2k a week for a Glasgow Rangers player is shocking? BTW, McCoist was also out to actually sign people he deemed necessary and of whom he thought could do a job. That they failed is partly to blame on him, but not solely.

McCoist spent an absolute fortune considering the level we were competing at and not a single player he signed left for any transfer fee. He signed dross and he is dross - end of story.

To play in league 2, yes.

I thought you now accepted you were wrong and that he was as bad as we all kept telling you?

Had you read the list above you would have noted that he did not spend "a fortune", not even in wages - compared to Rangers standards. It is quite interesting how many actually try to tie him a gallows knot with this money spent stuff, when Rangers managers and chairmen went ballistic with their spending and wages before him ... and won trophies and titles with it. McCoist spent little yb comparison, was left with a team in admin and did what half a dozen managers did before him, finished behind the Scum. Then he spent less, and won promotion. Spent even less thereafter and won promotion again. Then he was chopped, after spending next to nothing again.

But his football with a mediocre team was aweful!!! I tell you. Greece became European Champions with a mediocre team and aweful football. We all shake our heads, but the Greeks still adore their German manager.

BTW, perhaps you speak for yourself and not "all" others, who are well able to tell their point of view. And whether you deem them to be correct holds little value. Your opinion is just that, your opinion.

And it is obviosuly good to see you back here ... it must have been a hard time this last season and all this summer, with oh so little to moan about and nothing to hand us your negative opinion. Coming to think of it, long may the period of our well being continue.

So let's get this correct. We should have paid people the wage they were looking for and not according to our wage structure at the time? And Kyle would have been a happy chap had he been paid what our u20s or u17s got at the time? And some 14,5k less than McCulloch? We should have oriented our wage structure on the teams around us, with crowds of 200 to 5,000 people? Do you think we would be where we are now had that been done from the off? Serious question this.

SBS is undeniably spot on in his analysis.

McCoist was on very good money, Green paid him so in order to fill his own pockets. McCoist seen fit to convince Green that players like Black and Templeton were due huge wages if we were to get out of the fourth tier.

McCoist 2 years later got found out along with the rest of them...but pockets were filled none the less and all of a sudden Rangers woke up.

Still going with you weirdo lies to cover up you being caught out about not watching games? What a saddo.

Ok, I've had about my fill of the sniping.

Stop calling people weirdos and Saddos Cal.

This forum expects much better of its members and both you and SBS have previously been warned about the constant sniping at each other.

If Kyle himself said he would have been happy with 500 a week then it is nigh on criminal that we offered him 4-5 times that. At the least it shows a lack of due diligence.

McCulloch shouldn't have been on 15k a week but that isn't his fault. And pros like Kyle would also have known McCulloch was on a pre-admin contract and wouldn't have been expecting the same.

With you at the helm and paying players above their expectations we would be bankrupt again :fish: How foolish of us all to think we should pay a player what he expects (if lower than what we are prepared to pay).

As for would we be back where we are now had we been paying lower ?! Yes, with the right manager we would still be back in the SPFL. Gretna showed it could be done with a fraction of our resources, a fraction of our crowds and a fraction of our income.
