COPS applied a spit hood to man after he screamed at them, “Hail hail, you f**king orange bastard”.

Euan Cameron kicked off in an abusive tirade which landed him in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Cameron, 37, admitted to the offence which happened on October 11 on Crownpoint Road.

Police officers in a marked car were travelling east on the road and passed Cameron, who covered his face, as they drove past, the court heard.

The police officers turned back round to speak to Cameron, of The Fells, Lennoxtown, and this is when he kicked off.

He admitted that he did shout, swear and utter threats of violence at the police officers.

He also uttered remarks of a sectarian nature towards them.

He then struggled violently with the male and female police officers as they attempted to handcuff him following his outburst.

At one point the officers put him on the ground and applied fast straps.

More police attended in a bid to get Cameron into a vehicle.

He also accepted that he repeatedly kicked a female police officer on the body to her injury and spat at a policeman.

This is when the spit hood was applied.

When he was asked by a police officer to confirm his particulars at the charge bar, he replied: “Fuck off you p***k.”

Sheriff Brian Cameron said: “This is your fourth conviction for either assaulting a police officer in the execution of their duty or resisting arrest.”

Cameron will complete 200 hours of unpaid work in the community and he has been placed on supervision for two years.
