The Scottish game is simply booming. Booming I tells ye !

This year's William Hill Scottish Cup winners are set to land a prize worth little more than half of that given to Celtic for lifting the Betfred Cup back in November.

The Hoops landed £200,000 for beating Aberdeen but the victors in next month's Hampden showpiece will take home just £114,000.

That's only £14,000 more than the Dons received for coming runners-up to the Hoops in the first final of the Scottish season.

The figures, obtained by Record Sport Online, call into question the League Cup's reputation as the poor relation of the oldest trophy in world football.

When 10 SPL chairmen voted Rangers out the SPL back in 2012 in the name of liewell's 'sporting integrity' did they consider the financial consequences ?

Obviously not. Yet more examples of chickens coming home to roost. Scottish football is a financial joke

Of course they did. Do you not remember sell out Saturday when the non Rangers fans were going to make up any financial shortfall due to the loss of the Blue Pound! That worked out well didn't it!

They were looking into a crystal ball dangled in front of them by Lawwell, which told them of a brighter future and gold galore. And gladly sawed off the branch they were sitting on. As short sighted a hatchet job as they will ever experience. Long may their anguish howl through the glens ...

They must have done. However financial consequences took second place to hatred.
