Gonzo79 15,152
There's an interview with him on the main bbc football page and this stood out for me: "I have a blue heart… it's something that you always wear. You always hope that they do well, when you see them struggling so much, it hurts."
pete 2,499
Except if we play Ajax that will be. They are his first love.
Gonzo79 15,152
True. Ajax are in a similar position as Rangers. Huge club in a diddy league, being left behind by the new super rich clubs and unable to compete in Europe.
cooponthewing 1,139
Ajax, Feynoord, PSV, Rangers, Mhanks, Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Rosenberg, Red bull Salzburg, Austria Wien, FC Copenhagen, Brondby, Malmo, Benfica, Porto and Sporting Lisbon. I know it's a bit off topic but as we are discussing the Dutch clubs and ourselves being in a diddy league. This would be a decent 16 team North Atlantic League (ok the Portuguese but they are north enough). There would be interest from all over Europe and tv money to go with it! I can always dream......
Gonzo79 15,152
You'd think something like that might happen eventually, although I'd prefer no Red Bull clubs were invited. I struggle to see how we can improve our lot in Europe as things stand. Remember when we used to buy the likes of De Boer? Now we're buying Mexicans no one has heard of.

Something like his has to happen. We need to get out of Scottish football

Interesting re Barry F.
Gonzo79 15,152
Agreed. Any time any current or ex-Ger says anything nice about that lot is unpleasant.

If we don't get our act together we couldn't compete in that company.
MacK1950 2,357
We are in a backwater/joke league with no way out, unless a North Europe league happens in which, if it comes to fruition,we are not guaranteed entry. Therefore at the moment we have to pursue the best we can get out of where we are.
