Alastair Johnston: Incoming Ibrox boss can bring out the best in Rangers...

Aye maybe or maybe not.

Your still pushing it comparing him to reserve players.

You really type a lot of shite. How is Herrera a reserve player? I used to have a lot of respect for you. You have just become a troll.

So, you meant Rangers' Pools?

Rangers should never have an apostrophe within the word. Not in relation to our football club anyway.

Seriously, pity someone never told our founders or that wonderful club historian McBoyd, while he was researching for the Gallant Pioneers, everyday is learning day for those who seek knowledge.

Quote; “All early accounts have us as The Rangers' Football Club (note the apostrophe!) meaning the football club that belonged to The Rangers”

:) Do we have to have a discussion about the meaning of the word "within" now?

Fuxxake ....

If the club was The Ranger, instead of The Rangers, the possessive apostrophe would be used thus - The Ranger's car park.

If The Rangers is used as a collective or plural noun, it would be - The Rangers' car park or The Rangers' football club (note the lack of capitals in football club).

If The Rangers is used as a singular noun, it would be The Rangers' football club - specifically because the singular noun ends in an 's', otherwise it would be The Rangers's, which is grammatically unacceptable.

However, if The Rangers Football Club is (collectively) a singular noun, then it would be - The Rangers Football Club's car park.

From this you can see it is NEVER The Ranger's in any context.

End of.
