KING STING Rangers chairman Dave King set to take £19MILLION hit.

Recommended Posts

Another non-story, intended only to waft more negativity about Rangers. Does Robert Collins really believe Dave King has been carrying that £20m debt as an asset all these years in the expectation of full recovery. Any hit (if there actually is one) was taken long ago. Journalism in this country seems to cater only for the profoundly uninformed and the terminally gullible.

Indeed.

Another way of looking at this story would, legitimately be, "King set to receive unexpected 782k windfall". King would have written off the full amount a LONG time ago - so to get back 750k is actually a "bonus" to him at this juncture.

Journalism in Scotland MUST be negative towards Rangers.

The moonhowlers will have this down as "Admin 2 is just around the corner".

Union, out of genuine curiosity, what is it that you dislike about Dave King? There is not a single Rangers supporter who doesn't wish for a Chairman/largest shareholder who has made his money without a single blemish, purely through his own efforts, without screwing over any person who has come across his path, takes care of his granny, supports the RSPCA etc. I cringe at some of the statements that are signed of by King and wish we would pick our battles more carefully.

But can it be argued that King is not a genuine supporter and sees Rangers as a means to make more money? Highly unlikely, I would have thought. The reality is that the current shareholders are currently funding the club. Known fact. The club will be running at a deficit for a period of time and requires those shareholders willing to use their own money to ensure that we do not go back into an administration. Fact.

What or who are the alternatives to King and the 3Bs? Ashley? Green and his mystery consortiums? Whyte? Murray? Would the Park's continue to fund the club single handedly? A Chinese or Arab investor with no affiliation to the club is going to generously contribute millions to restoring the glory to our famous club?

My personal opinion is that King is not in it for the long haul. If there is a better option for the long term well being of Rangers, I have no doubt that King would walk, and go and enjoy his wine in South Africa. The challenge is finding that better option.
