Hibs Looking To Cut Rangers Ticket Allocation?

Tickets for Hibernian’s home match against Celtic are now on sale online, over the phone, or in-person from the Hibernian Ticket Office with tickets for Kilmarnock and Rangers to be available early next week.

As the matches against the Glasgow clubs are Category A games, only supporters on the Hibernian database will be able to purchase these tickets.

All three matches are shaping up to be pivotal as we go into the final five fixtures as the battle for European places hots up. Make sure you’re there to back the team in these crucial matches.

Given the lack of time given to plan arrangements and sell tickets, Celtic will occupy the full South Stand. A decision will be made on splitting the South Stand for the Kilmarnock and Rangers game based on demand and sales in the coming week.

playing devils advocate (somewhat here...)

The original Hibs statement reads "A decision will be made on splitting the South Stand for the Kilmarnock and Rangers game based on demand and sales in the coming week.".  Therefore it is not a given that the allocation will actually be cut.

Based on normal travelling support, you would assume that there would be plenty of demand to fill the entire ground, never mind just one stand - and I'm sure Hibs well know this!!!  Nothing more than a wee poke at the Bear....

IF the allocation is reduced, we simply reduce their allocation accordingly.....but still have them sitting in the same number of seats so that their support looks tiny ;)

Unfortunately buster we all know from past experience that only one set of supporters will be blamed if there is trouble at Easter Road.

Agreed and the opposition support know that.

Not to mention Rod Petrie, who got away with some disgraceful remarks in the immediate aftermath of the 2016 Cup Final.

IIRC Motherwell fans got away with severe goading of the Rangers support after the play off match.

If you put Dave King or the Rangers support in the above examples, we'd have been hammered, at least in the media.

I'll go along with your thoughts there mate.

But what Hibs are playing at is -  if our support don't want enough tickets we'll sell them to you.

Feckem !   Rangers should tell them we won't be taking ANY tickets whether the allocation is cut or not. And we won't be taking any next season too.

Stop garbage like this before it grows arms and legs and our support end up missing out in a future REALLY important match.

This game against Hibs means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

If we insist on still going to away games and funding our enemies then this sort of thing will keep on happening. We have always had the means, just not the desire. Where is Club1872?

  • 2 weeks later...

Have the Hibees sold out for this coming Sunday?

After tonight's victory for Hearts, and after cutting the Rangers supporters' allocation, I would hate there to be embarrassing spaces evident on the TV live coverage.

Oh, I hope Neil is not tipped into another bout of the Black Dog?

It's a total embarrassment that we could possibly finish equal on points with newly promoted Hibs.  What a joke of a season.

I remember watching Annan beat us at Ibrox and Raith Rovers beating us at Easter Road but how this season has ended truly is a low point.

No point trying to tart it up.
