And all from artists that can play, wow. mines are a mix of very good, good, decent and shite. 

 

Anyway music opinions are all well and good but are specific to the person listening to them. One person's shit is another person's favourite artist and vice versa.

Good songwriting and passion can be just as useful as technical ability - I don't think Ron Asheton has anywhere near the musical talent that Herbie Hancock does but still love his guitar playing.

 

Of course, appreciation of all art forms is subjective.

Donny Hathaway, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, The Isley Brothers, Otis Redding, The Supremes and James Brown all immediately spring to mind.
