West of Scotland Mayhem

Probably an over reaction in the first place? Not that I want to belittle any damage/violence after OF games, it was happening for years so I'm still not sure why that was the straw that broke the camels back?

Saying that I'm sure rags like the DR/The Herald have ready made "cut and paste" articles about the said "carnage" waiting in the wings for when Rangers eventually win an OF game.

Mobile phones and social media have probably played their part.

Instead of going out looking for a fight, lads just sit on their phones and abuse people online.  You can see a similar situation in most town/city centres at weekends ...less people go to the pub due to the prices and you can communicate, quite easily, without being in the same place.

It was also good headline grabbing material for politicians and still is.

I don’t think it is any better or wore to be honest. Main difference is that, due to the early kick offs, trouble doesn’t happen inside the ground. But it is worse now at pubs later in the day/night, when everyone is drunk. It was always a ‘political football’ anyway, don’t be surprised if there is another push against us from the likes of James Dornan, probably linked into the fact there will only be 900 of their fans at the next game at Ibrox.
