There's a very good case for the human population topping out at about 10-11 billion before gradually declining. We can manage that as things stand and we could improve the situation by striving to bring as many people out of poverty as we can. Assuming no catastrophic environmental disasters that is. We can manage 10-11 billion ? Are you sure about that ? I am certain I read an article recently that said the global population has consumed a year's worth of natural resources (fruit, veg, beef etc) by the end of March - and that is with a population of 8 billion. Throwing another 25% of a population on top of that will hardly ensure we can manage that.
